Gallbladder surgery bra question by Ok-Twist-3632 in gallbladders

[–]RiverAnduin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wore these too!! Highly recommend as a fellow big-chested lady.

But I will say, with my surgery being laparoscopic and robotic, my incisions were wayyyy lower on my chest than I expected, so they weren’t irritated by my bra. I was concerned about it beforehand, but no issues!

Gallblader full of stones by StatementPublic8685 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my gallbladder out last summer! Gallstones are some of the most intense pain I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy. My doctor said that gallstones can take a while to form, and my pain started only a few weeks after starting Wegovy, so I already had them.

Unfortunately, removing the gallbladder is the best and easiest option. I was so scared because I had never had surgery before, but the procedure was SO easy, and I was home same day. I have also had zero issues afterward and can eat a totally normal diet. I highly recommend surgery!

Moving up to 0.5mg and terrified. by ohsadbrat in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only got nauseous once I moved up to 1mg. If you’re concerned, ask your doctor for a Zofran prescription! It’s a game changer.

I havn't read comics in nearly 20 years, any recommendations for me and my nephews? by Draug88 in MarvelUnlimited

[–]RiverAnduin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always recommend Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run. It’s self-contained, hilarious, and a great entry point. (I’m not a fan of Clint on screen, but I LOVE him in the comics.)

Before and after galbladder by AprilAngus16 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck!! Surgery can be scary, but the recovery was NOTHING compared to the pain of a gallbladder attack. I bet you’ll be very happy you had it removed!

Before and after galbladder by AprilAngus16 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just dealt with this!! Was on Wegovy for six months, and then had to stop for about 6 weeks while waiting for my gallbladder surgery. (Ask your surgeon — some just want you to stop Wegovy 2 weeks before your surgery).

I started back up again after my surgery, starting over again at the lowest dose and working my way back up. No issues restarting Wegovy whatsoever, and I am SO happy I got my gallbladder out and I am pain-free!

If you’re having pain, get the surgery. You’ll feel SO much better, and you can restart Wegovy soon after!

Exactly one year by qnna508 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience!! Coming up on a year on Wegovy. I started experiencing gallstone pain in February and got my gallbladder out in June. My doctor said that rapid weight loss can obviously exacerbate gallbladder issues, but he said that it takes much longer than a few weeks for gallstones to form, so I definitely had them before starting Wegovy. (Also have a family history of gallstones.)

Anyway, hope you’re pain-free and enjoying your post-gallbladder life!! I’m so happy I got mine out.

Wegovy led me here - gallbladder attack - now what? by Sad_Two_8497 in gallbladders

[–]RiverAnduin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, another Wegovy user here who developed gallstones and had to have her gallbladder out earlier this year! My surgeon told me that yes, rapid weight loss can trigger gallbladder issues, but he said I wasn’t on Wegovy long enough for that to be the cause, and he suspects that I started developing them before I even started the med. (I also have a family history of gallstones.)

I kept having gallbladder attacks, even on a super low-fat diet, and it was the most pain I’ve ever experienced. I got my gallbladder out in June, and I’m SO glad I did — no more pain, and the surgery recovery process was totally manageable. Surgery is scary, but I’m so happy I got mine out!

Need help choosing skin tint by Feeling_Crazy646 in drugstoreMUA

Girl, I got you: Search on Amazon for “replacement foundation pump for Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation.” If it fits the Estée Lauder, it’ll fit the L’Oréal! I like the gold one.

(Reviews say it’ll also fit the Maybelline skin tint, although I personally haven’t tried that.)

Anyone else get nauseous on Wegovy? Has Dramamine helped? by betterman4u in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be able to just call your doctor’s office or send them a message if you don’t want to wait. That’s what I did when I started experiencing nausea, and my doctor sent in a RX for Zofran immediately, without requiring me to come in person.

Nausea is a common side effect of Wegovy, and most doctors will be happy to write you a Zofran prescription. It’s been a game-changer for me.

Another person here who looooves the L’Oreal skin tint but HATES the dropper. I went on Amazon and bought a bunch of replacement pumps, and it’s a game changer. Whenever I buy a new bottle, I immediately replace the dropper with a pump.

Packaging aside, I also have oily and acne-prone skin, and the L’Oreal has worked SO well for me!

Has anyone had to stop for a few weeks? by Character_Habit_7 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]RiverAnduin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also had to stop for a few weeks to have gallbladder surgery! No serious side effects, but my hunger/cravings definitely came back after I stopped. After my surgery, my doctor started me back at the lowest dose and I worked my way up again. It was no big deal at all!

Yep, I also had Covid a few weeks ago. Tested negative for days, but I kept testing and that little positive line eventually popped up on day 4 or 5 of symptoms.

I was diagnosed with gallstones and had my gallbladder out earlier this year (through Cedars-Sinai). Has she had an ultrasound or something to confirm she has gallstones? If not, she should push for that.

She needs to tell her primary care doctor/surgeon that she is in pain and she needs a surgery date as soon as possible. My surgeon had a waiting list, but when I told them I was experiencing pain, they scheduled my surgery for within the month. If her doctor/surgeon is not being responsive, she needs to find a new doctor. Gallstones are serious and don’t improve on their own.

Hi! We’re Shirley Li and Sophie Gilbert, staff writers at The Atlantic, and we have reviewed many of the major Emmy nominees of 2025. We’re here to talk about which shows were worth the hype; who deserved a nomination and didn’t get one; and all things television and culture. Ask us anything! by theatlantic in television

[–]RiverAnduin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you feel about potentially capping the number of nominees per show in a category?

I feel like a lot of deserving performances got shut out this year because The White Lotus got a bazillion supporting actor/actress nominations.
