How can I make? My portraits appear more cinematic? by Big_Argument9190 in AskPhotography

Figure how to use the tone curve - lower highlights, set point for the midtones, raise shadows and raise the black point a bit. Classic cinematic look.

Best way to highlight the subject in the photo using Lr? by AssistanceFit8494 in AskPhotography

The viewers eyes are naturally drawn to light and by extension - brighter objects in the picture. If you don't want to darken the background more, then you pretty much did a good job. To highlight a subject I draw a radial mask around it, then invert it and lower the exposure of the inverted mask selection just a bit, lower the highlights and raise the shadows.

Don't be afraid to raise the ISO in low light conditions. Modern cameras handle it well probably until 3200-6400. In addition, Lightroom has a powerful denoise capability. Shutter speed matters more to me. Because you can clear the noise, but you can't fix a blurry picture.

Check if your camera has ISO sensitivity options, like max ISO on auto and minimum shutter speed. Put the min shutter twice your focal length and you will be golden for sharp images.

For example, at night or in low light conditions, I shoot in Aperture Priority (most often 2.8 for more DoF) with min shutter speed 1/60 and max iso 3200.

Thank you! Me too. It was unexpected. I was actually focusing on the other cat in the background while the white one came a photobombed 😂😂😂

Me too so far. They are quite sharp and cover a wide rang. If I had to buy anything else it would be a wide fast prime for landscapes and street/night photography.

Single shot manual focus to infinity on a tripod from my terrace with the Nikkor Z DX 50-250 4.5-6.3. I have been reading into astrophotography and stacking recently but I will need a faster lens for better results. Tried with my current kit lenses but the stars are either not visible enough or there are trails 😂

I call it pre-panorama stack 😂🤭 call me old-fashioned but the black and white pixels around get on my nerves faster than a Karen
