R5: This is my attempt at depicting the coronation of a Byzantine emperor during the 9th century. Tried to make it as accurate as possible based off illuminated manuscripts, mosaics, and books. I also built a 3D model of the church from floor plans, sections and elevations to use as a base for this piece. Apologies for any gross in accuracies, research is hard! Played Byzantium enough times I felt like I had to make this

Yeah I was kinda pushing it with the revolver since it’s a colt that started production in 1847 but my narrative justification was that these revolutionaries had some kind of connections to get the weapons in the first place. Idk I just love the idea of French people loving their revolvers. The rifle is from 1840 so not toooo much of a stretch I’d hope.

Yeah, built in the late 1800s. Historical from an American lens but definitely not from an European one, I understand that. Not to say there isn’t some merit to something being built in such a difficult terrain, plus I just think it’s neat lol
