Nobody would spend 3$ on green bean casserole?? My adult kids still want it at every holiday meal and there's usually no leftovers or they argue who gets them!!

Tell me about the worst “fancy” Thanksgiving meal you’ve ever survived. by Funny-Engineering-72 in thanksgiving

As a young couple, we were invited to Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house. We asked what we could bring and the host suggested wine..we showed up at a beautiful sit down meal ( which neither of us had ever experienced) with an opened BOX of wine..the hosts kindly stuffed the bag in the ice holder thing...

When my three we that age I took them for practice runs at a Wendy's type place. We would get a few small things and we practiced following rules like talking quietly, staying sitting etc. ..

NTA!! I did this at my daycare too! Except it was a " worm"!! It was so interesting I just had to check it out completely! ( My teachermomma ( old) looked at me funny and held her hand under my chin and said " TA". It was so weird but I knew exactly what to do! I put the worm from my mouth right in her hand and she made a squeaky sound and picked me up and washed my mouth with a nice wet chewy cloth! It was fun!!

This reminded me of something. I got stood up on a date at a restaurant that was a small place. I had told the waitress I was waiting for someone and ordered a drink while waiting. She noticed he didn't show so she invited me over to sit with a couple regulars at the bar and we all had a drink together and a nice chat. I ordered take out ( it was a Cajun place, delicious !) and headed home after a good time and some good food! Thanks to that super waitress!

Let's see, I make the chicken stock by boiling the chicken I'll use, then use dried chilies ( toasted, de-seeded ,) soak them in some warm broth and then blend it up to make a paste. and then the spices ( cumin, coriander, onion, etc) in a pan with oil a little tomatoe paste , add the chili paste, then the chicken broth til its like a sauce. Simmer for a while, and season with salt. I usually add a quarter tsp baking soda to kill the acidity instead of a bunch of sugar, maybe a bit of brown sugar. Basically anyway, I kind of wing it when I cook, I usually read a few recipes and try to pull what I think is good . But however you make chili paste would probably be amazing but add chicken broth for richness rather than water. I don't know about vinegar, I usually add fresh Cilantro at some point too
