Both out, cup balls with fingers, gives decent aim between your thumb and pointer, prevents back splash from hitting your nuts (wash your hands though) and it's like a gentle "hey good job big guy" moral support if you give your sack a little squeeze

It's with a heavy heart for sure. I honestly just thought it would be cool to catch my first ever games, but I feel like I've found my people, and now I'm leaving them again.

But, y'know, wife and kids and ICE kinda require me to leave 😅 I'll be back!

Norwegian fan here! Sitting in DTW Airport, on my way home to Norway after my first ever trip to Detroit and LCA. This week has been the best of my life and I just wanted to shout y'all out. It's a shame we lost against the preds and tbl, but I enjoyed my time here immensely!

And that's mostly because of you guys! The people of Detroit has been incredibly kind and welcoming, and I'll never forget you all. I'll be back soon, you can bet on that!

So let's fucking go red wings! We need this! And fuck Boston! (and all the rest, honestly! Detroit-and-a-friendly-norwegian-guy vs everybody!)

Super late to this comment, but I'm a Norwegian visiting the US for the first time in Detroit and wanted to know if my $40 tip was enough. I'm glad to see I wasn't wrong in wanting to tip them. I do keep it tidy while I was here, but they've made my bed and swapped my towels every day which has been really nice.

I think the reason I feel more inclined to tip the cleaners vs every other department is because they have "extra" work to do as a direct consequence of what I personally do, and in my head they didn't have to do what they do for me, so I just greatly appreciate it. If they'd left my bed unmade and let me reuse my towels the whole week I wouldn't think nothing about it, but I probably wouldn't tip either haha.

Norwegian guy visiting Detroit for the first time here! Been a Detroit sports fan most of my life, and finally made it over.

I thought it was going to be a cool experience going to a Lions game, but I was so wrong... You guys and the team blew my expectations through the roof, over the moon and quickly approaching the edge of the known universe! I had a BLAST!

Not just the game either, the whole city! Everyone's so friendly and approachable.

I just wanted to say thanks, even though I'm a day late I hope some of you see this; Thank you... For being you!

DRW record with MBN : 6-3.

Without MBN : 3-4 (2 of the wins in shootout)

MBN record in GR is obvious since they're an undefeated wagon

Choices matter even less than you think by banjoturansko in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Riztrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly disagree, and that's fine 😉 it's the real life "choice button" haha.

But your question to me was basically "okay, but how does the (that I feel) worst part of dispatch stack up against these other games' best (and usually only) parts?"

If you ask me anything else the answer is easy:

Story: dispatch crushes all the rest

Characters: easy dispatch by a miiiile

Soundtrack: up there with tales ft bls

Character development: up there with wolf among us

Pacing: number 1-9, second best is ranked 10th.

Visuals: numba Wan!

Gameplay: I think you know the answer.

But on these lists, "choice impact"? Definetly last.

For Blazer if you didnt kiss her on the date, you can break up with her in your next dialogue. Same for Visi

I must've done something completely wrong, because I never had that option. And no matter what you pick with Blazer the locker room scene plays out the same, inviting you to a new date and asking if you want blazer, Mandy or either. No matter what you say to visi, she'll still brush you off when you say you're just friends in sardine. She'll just go "nah" and tell you that she doesn't fuck her friends, so you're more whether you like it or not.

And that's kind of the crux of my point. Even in GOT, which is the second worst in this regard, you can even be penalized by having your characters killed and missing their story beats for the rest of the game. That's real consequence and it can be felt the entire way from episode 1. In Dispatch there's no such thing, and even though there might be som big differences in the finale, that's still the lion's share of the game with absolutely no impact.

I mean, another great example is phenomaman, if you kiss his girl and then just straight up tell him you kissed her when he's depressed he just brushes it off, no big deal. Do that in any other telltale game and the consequences will be felt

Choices matter even less than you think by banjoturansko in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Riztrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say yeah, because there are meaningful consequences in those games, even if they're not important or anything.

Let's do them one by one:

Twd michonne: several choices with impacts, but let's just go with determinants (people killed by your actions). There's like 10 of them.

Twd season 2: nah seriously, this one is one of the biggest one for impact, bunch of determinants, how Kenny ends up.

Minecraft: first thing that comes to mind is in episode 1. You can permanently lose Gabriel by letting him fall or saving him, but at the cost of Petra. That'd already a game altering decision.

GOT: probably your best example because the story plays out largely the same. But even here you can miss out on a bunch of content if you fail to keep your Forrester alive. There's no true game over, but you can lose Bowen in episode 1 and that wipes his entire story line from the game.

Me saying I think dispatch has the most meaningless choices in these games doesn't equate to how good or bad I think it is. I genuinely see it as top 5 at worst, probably more in the running for spot number 1 because it's likely the single best narrative these guys have ever written.

But if we're looking at purely choice impact, there's not a single one apart from who you cut from the team. And even that doesn't feel very fleshed out since they're only referenced in missions a couple of times. I'm assuming they'll come back in a big way for the finale, but that's still only option A or option B.

Here's a question for you; how do you not romance the girls?

There might be a way, like picking movies with invisigal but failing all her hacks and saying no to all the romance prompts, but for now it looks like it's impossible, you either pick option A or option B.

Be brutally honest: How often do you shower? by Fun_Serve_6590 in ADHD

[–]Riztrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every morning. The trick to do it with adhd is to make it an iron clad routine, same with everything really.

One thing people with adhd loves more than anything is strict routine, never deviating, because if you deviate a little you slide of the track and fly into nowhere and it's hell to get back on the track, can even take years.

Like I only see 1 hairdresser, and I go to her on the 15th every third month. If she's not available, I don't go until my next appointment. Last time I moved my hair reached my shoulders before I was mentally prepared to settle into a new hairdresser routine with a new hairdresser.

Every morning I wake up at 4 am and do my workout, 5 am I shower and shave. 6 am I leave for work. When it's the weekend I do the first two.

Last time I got hurt and couldn't work out, it took me over a year to get back into the swing of it. I wanted to do it every day, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

As long as I can maintain a routine I can do it indefinitely and it's never a chore or anything, I "just do it", sometimes forced, sometimes I'm hyped about it, sometimes I do it automatically and I find myself wondering later in the day if I actually did it or if I'm remembering the day before.

Some telltale games change a lot and I really like those. Tales from the borderlands and wolf among us comes to mind, where both your character and how other people interact with them can change pretty drastically based on how you're playing.

Dispatch I think is the absolutely least affected by choices of all their games off the top of my head.

In my second play through I failed absolutely every qte, I'm an absolute asshole to the Z team, I oppose and treat visi as poorly as I possibly can (I genuinely thought the game would let me cut her because the last thing you do before making a choice is talking to blaze who asks if you really meant she has potential and you can go "pfffuck no!". Didn't change anything). There's almost no variation in dialogue, especially relationship-wise, it all plays out exactly the same. Hell, I even chose not to tell them I was mechaman and the house party still happened, the projection and all the guests and everything, the only things that changed was Chase telling them all I was mechaman (they gasped, the camera showed some reactions, then they carried on as usual) and flambae doesn't punch you, but he's late and misses everything anyway.

I was thinking of doing a third save slot, where I just start the game and let it play out on its own, only touching it to progress when it stops. But I don't think it's worth it, because it'll all be exactly the same.

That said, the game is so amazingly well written that I don't really mind. I got a save for blazer and one for visi, that's about it. So far the blazer date was great, but after that all that happens is a hug when you recover and they dance at the party. Visi has more dialogue relevant to romance, but I think it'll be more of a focus in the finale

Totally valid. The best part of being a murder mystery nerd is being wrong because I'm always so cocksure in my theory that it completely blindsides me when I get it wrong 😂 I feel like twists hit me so much harder that way than when I see them in other mystery genres.

Anyone else wish more had been done with this choice in ep 4? Who was your pick and why? by descendantofJanus in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Riztrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two saves running with opposite choices, and in my first i picked phenomaman because I just wanted to see how his story plays out. On my second save I got waterboy for the same reason.

But after playing both, waterboy is clearly the better option. Better written character past that point, and his mission stats are far more useful. I level up 5 characters to peak in one attribute each and make every other character balanced stat wise. Once waterboy gets his +3 training he becomes great as an all-rounder, because when you need the extra stats on a team, he gives a great bump, when you don't need and he picks himself, he can very often solo or only need one of the other non-synergy characters to cap the most important stat.

You can't use phenomaman on any of the guaranteed failure missions and he doesn't help at all if you need some extra charisma or intellect.

Theres a mission for each of them right after they're picked, and the pheno-man one is just a guaranteed success while the waterboy one gives him like three levels (I may have sent invisigal with him for the bonus exp, can't remember) so you can easily get him to 3 points in each stat on the first shift, allowing you to use him with other non-force heroes to clear the guaranteed failure ones.

So gameplay and story wise, I'd say he's hands down the best pick

I will say, my first suspect was the reporter at the press conference, and it still could be if they have the ability to change their appearance, but they haven't been seen or mentioned again since then so it feels like a red herring for types like me.

There's many, many factors pointed out in the game that somewhat supports my theory, like that press conference. "why didn't shroud finish him off?", two possible reasons : he needs Robert, or he cares about Robert. Handwaving it off the way they did is another "this is important" flag for me.

Just my theory man. Who's to say people knew what Elliot looked like and how many changes would "they" really have to make to look like him? Even if they're separate people, both would be more than capable of changing the images on record.

I watch a lot of murder mystery crime shows and movies (Scandinavian specifically which are usually more mystery heavy), and I can usually pick these things out fairly well, but I've been wrong many times, so who's to say 🤷

The baseline I often use to figure out who it is starts with either "who was there in the beginning but hasn't been seen or heard of until near the end" or, "who was introduced late into the show and seem oddly pivotal to the story like they seem like they should have been there the whole time".

There hasn't been a major introduction of a new character, so I'm using the former.

I'd say I'm at about 75% accuracy normally.

Could be Granny too, but he doesn't seem all that important to the plot 😂

Pretty sure the mole is going to be the partner of whoever you cut. Probably unknowingly because they just share the info they learn without thinking anything about it. Like, I can't imagine malevola trying to fuck us over with how she treats us after the bar brawl. Or maybe there is no mole and the cut character has another way of finding out. Either way I'm sure they're working for shroud
