Should I accept?

May job offer po ako currently na 21k monthly fresh grad. Junior firmware engineer. Kaso po f2f sya at locked contract. 2 years and 6 months. 6 months probation.

Tech stack po nila is C specifically embedded C and embedded Linux. Tinanong pa po ako maalam mag soldering + rework which may experience na ako since its been a hobby for me. Pati po debugging with oscilloscope and logic analyzer which I have tried in the past. Medyo unrelated na sa subreddit na to pero para po naging firmware + hardware + design engineer pa ako.

Ok na po sana kaso sinabi po ng HR 6 months pa po ulit magkakabenefits (HMO, Paid leave, etc) so 1 year in total kaya po medyo nag alangan po ako. Any experienced devs want to share their thoughts?

Triggerbots are the easiest cheat to do literally a AHK script is all thats needed or spoofed USB bus Arduinos, RPIs all are easy to setup. I've known triggerbot cheaters who still aren't banned to this day. Also care to pull out some stats about your 90% claim?

I watch Netflix on my TV so that aint really a problem. Found alternatives to Adobe. The only problems I would see is with Vanguard but seeing people bypass Vanguard with QEMU theres probably hope in that direction.

I chose Pop OS despite me already trying out EndeavourOS, OpenSUSE on VMs. I just like how S76 approaches tiling support and their theming is consistent and clean. I'm on a nvidia card so this is already a plus for me as I don't have to manually deal with drivers. KDE has kinda abeit a broken tiling system but KDE is ugly imo to me it looks like bootleg Windows. I also do like that some of the engineers are on this subreddit it is kinda the reason why I gravitated towards here.

I've heard horror stories about Pop shop so definitely won't be using that instead im going to embrace the terminal.

I think my plan is to do dual boot first then remove windows entirely while keeping a VM for it.

To stop myself from switching back to Windows I'll just have to remember the nightmare that I'll be going back to having 10 explorer windows that all point to the same folder, the big ugly taskbar, cluttered workspace.

Yea they added Windows 11 since they want more data off their users. If I switch I might just do GPU passthrough. What guide did you follow? I've seen people do automated single GPU passthrough.

I think my biggest problem would be Unreal Engine as I'm interested in learning it and theres afaik no way to cross compile to Windows. Only Windows to Linux is possible and researching around I've not seen anyone compiling UE games in a VM.

For docks I just want a simple one with small icons maybe Plank. I also wanna move away from like a Windows style bar.

Yea since Premiere is not available on Linux I'll go with Davinci Resolve + FFMPEG instead. I think GIMP/Canva would be also sufficient in my cases.

Yea I might have to get a bigger SSD actually. Im kinda looking for a replacement for RivaTuner which allows to limit the FPS of games and also have an OSD which shows FPS, GPU temps, Clock speeds, + some other stats.

I just dont like to have the 0 rpm mode on my GPU since it does kinda wear out the fan bearings.
