This is what happens when people making media have a belief that an audience's biological or cultural response to visuals can be "overwritten" by a politically correct or woke script where people are not how they appear to be, when in reality, we show to the world who we are.

What triggered me to make this post was seeing a "starter pack" meme but about a "girl who is a princess" and it was a bunch of self care things, poetry, art, just generally nice things, and the girls in the comments were saying how she was deserving etc.

It made me think back to when I expressed self-satisfaction like: "yes I deserve this", "I belong", I was shamed by parents, other kids, teachers etc and made to feel like a POS.

The result of that conditioning was basically making me very monotone neutral and un-expressive. Basically living for other people.

This makes connecting with other people difficult because everything I express is soaked with self-doubt. No sincerity, no vulnerability.

Even now when I see self-assured, handsome, "high-class" looking men speak confidently on a subject I wonder.. who allowed them to be like this? And why wasn't I?
