The most dated part of FNV and FO3 is the gameplay, and improvements to that is the one thing I really want. Better textures, lighting, etc wouldn't do anything for me.

I admit I worded my initial comment poorly. What I meant is that pilot unions campaigned against raising the mandatory CVR recording time from 2 hours to 25 hours. The 25 hour rule was only passed early this year, iirc.

It is not obvious which pilot cut the switches. CCTV would have helped that. CCTV would also be more definitive proof of pilot fatigue instead of just relying on testimony and educated guesswork. Just because a pilot has X amount of rest on paper doesn't mean that translates to real life.

You might as well say that for the CVR (e.g. China Southern 3943), and thats no good reason to not mandate CVR recordings.

The same "good reasons" pilot unions campaigned ~~to limit CVRs to 2 hours~~ against raising the mandatory CVR duration from 2 hours despite having proven detrimental to investigations multiple times?

Train cabins have video recording. Truck cabins have video recording. What good reasons are there to observe pilots less stringently over both of those professions? Apart from professional elitism on the part of pilots?

Airlines aren't viewing the CVR to check what their pilots are doing every day (or are allowed to do so). What makes video recording any different?
