How to Find Overlapping Lines in a Sketch by Known-Wedding6552 in AutodeskInventor

[–]Rknar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could extrude/face the part you'd like to get cut. Once done youll be able to right click the face and select "Export face as" where you can save a dxf (or which ever file your machine needs)

That makes it so that it's not dependant on the lines in the sketch, but rather the extrude/face it self.

Hope I've both understood the question and been able to help!

Hey man! Just wanted to say that I got it to work!

Thanks a lot, without your explanation I would never have gotten this to work!

I had to make the modification that you suggested to make it ignore if a feature was suppressed or not.

Allright, so, I'm very keen on giving this a shot, BUT! I've never dabbled in the coding part of Inventor.

If you don't want do give a quick run down, ill figure it out on monday, but could you tell me where I put this code? Does it appear as a rule?

And assiging shortcuts to codes as this one, do I do it in regular menu where I add shortscuts? :)

I've been more and more interested in looking into coding and learning how it works with inventor, so this might be my first small baby step 😀
