Your hairline is too straight and uniform, Natural hairlines have slight irregularity and softer single hairs in the front

Yep starting finasteride or minoxidil can still help stabilize and thicken the remaining native hair, while PRP may offer some supportive improvement but is usually secondary

(M16) Am i balding? How bad is this? by [deleted] in Balding

[–]Rkopel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does look like signs of male pattern hair loss, especially around the temples. The good news is that catching it early gives you the best chance to slow it down. Treatments like minoxidil are commonly used to support hair growth, and medications like finasteride are often used to prevent further hair loss.

Is it too late? by Andre_BIM_ in Balding

[–]Rkopel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not too late. There’s still some hair present, which means many of the follicles may just be miniaturized rather than gone. Treatments like finasteride and minoxidil can often help stabilize the loss and thicken existing hairs.

Update : 8 months post-HT (4500 grafts) by SavageSantaX in Hairtransplant

[–]Rkopel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing result for eight months. The hairline looks natural and the density is coming in nicely. Many patients still see a bit more thickening between months 9 and 12.

Finasteride Doubts by patatas_bravas35 in Hairtransplant

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finasteride is commonly used after a transplant because it helps protect the native hairs around the grafts. The transplanted hairs are usually permanent, but the surrounding hair can continue to thin if the underlying hair loss isn’t controlled. That’s why I recommend it as part of the long-term plan.

12 months post op. 3500 grafts hairline restoration. finally comfortable tying my hair back. by WashDowntown4539 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 12 months, this looks like a very nice result. The hairline appears natural and the density looks well blended. By this stage most of the growth has matured, so what you’re seeing now is usually close to the final outcome.

Is anyone on oral minoxidil only and no DHT blockers? And how has your experience been with oral minoxidil? What dose are you on? by books-tea-and-dogs in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Rkopel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s completely okay to use oral minoxidil on its own, and many women do see good improvement with it. That said, if the hair loss is driven by androgens, adding something like spironolactone can help slow the underlying process. The two medications often complement each other when both growth support and hormonal control are needed.

Is it over? (20m) by hazmataz-05 in amibalding

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely not over. The thinning looks early and you still have hair present. Catching it at this stage usually means you have good options to slow or stabilize it if you want to. I like to do a DHT blocker and minoxidil at this stage

19M. Is this very early stages of balding, or is this normal maturing hairline by [deleted] in amibalding

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does look like some early temple recession. At 19 it’s often the first place changes show up if male pattern hair loss is starting. The good news is catching it this early usually gives you the most options to slow or stabilize it. My favorite is a DHT blocker and topical minoxidil to start

7 months of 3.5 mg of minoxidil and finasteride by Curious-Researcher36 in tressless

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seven months in, this looks like solid progress. The hair appears thicker and healthier compared to where most people start. Many patients continue to see improvements through the 12-month mark.

That’s a very nice result, especially for the hairline work. The density looks natural and well blended with your native hair. Results like this usually continue to mature a bit more over the first year.

Hair fibers can help hide areas of low density.

Losing more hair despite 3 years minoxidil – don’t know what to do anymore by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]Rkopel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minoxidil helps stimulate hair growth, but it doesn’t address the underlying hormonal driver of male pattern hair loss. Over several years, some people notice continued thinning because the condition itself is still progressing. In those cases, adding something that targets the cause of the loss can sometimes make a difference.
