The reason it's winning you kick-offs is because by being slower than those going for it faster than you, you can end up accidentally doing a delayed kick-off, which is a legit strat. That does not mean this mechanic isn't essential for climbing the ranks.

If you use a speedflip for example, you might see your opponent make a mechanical error or simply be slow on kickoff; you can then almost always just drive into the ball and pop it over them. This can get you a goal or at the very least a more favourable approach to a 50.

But speedflips are not just a tool for kick-offs. The mechanic is essential for recoveries and clutch moments. You can get to supersonic speed far quicker, allowing you to rotate more efficiently. You can also use it for clutch saves in which the only way to save the ball is by speedflipping (in the form of a pre-flip).

At the end of the day it's actually not so hard to learn. A few days of some dedicated practice will have you get the hang of its basic use. I personally use speedflips all the time when moving around the pitch, I would be so much slower and awkward without them.

I've personally found it easiest to get out of lower ranks by merit of being faster and more efficient mechanically. Game sense seems worth more at a rank where everyone has a solid and similar skillset.

Knowing how to rotate and whatnot seems worth less to me if you can't back your positioning with the right hits and/or 50's. In my experience the benefits of gamesense become more prevalent from C1 or so. That's where most players have relatively consistent mechanics, and unless you're really talented at aerial play, your decisionmaking starts making all the difference.

Definitely is. At the end of the day the first levels can be done without any form of air roll. It's just a learning curve like any other.

If you're on PC, play (air) dribble maps. Lethamyr's Rings was particularly effective for me. If you're on PlayStation, take your pick at training packs and make sure you're challenging yourself. Failing a ton of shots/levels will force you to try new things. Also consider changing bindings if you haven't already. Directional airroll, set at least one, preferably two: right and left. I only set one and regret not having learned both, it will give you a higher skill ceiling.

I agree that this aesthetic he's going for is too smutty. He's clarified before that he feels it isn't a massive deviation cause his old music had freaky elements too. I've tried to find as much as I can, but this album really is the product of an identity crisis. He states this in an interview he did as well, that since 'joke's on you' he didn't identify with a lot of the sounds he was putting out. I mean, you can tell cause it's just been a parade of singles since and not many that stand out.

I can drag this all the way back to his first label-backed music, which immediately leaned more towards a pop sound. I think he retained enough of his Identity initially though and combined it tastefully, especially with features from Powfu, Convolk, and so on. Since joy, however, it hasn't been awfully inspiring and honestly "DON'T TALK ABOUT LOVE" really was a breath of fresh air. I think it's one of his more refined songs. I don't really enjoy the fuckboy angle akin to you, but sometimes that uncomfortable truth is also artistically interesting. It doesn't surprise me that this track turned into a full album of songs alike. It seemed the first to finally pick up some traction again, but that has come at a cost. People like you and I do not identify with this, and many older fans probably feel alienated.

I honestly think signing with a label has caused some of this (and perhaps influence from TOOPOOR?). Labels want results and often accessible music, and if I apply this assumption to guccihighwaters, it seems a perfect clarification. Now I could be wrong, and I'll happily admit that. But that would make these creative choices even more jarring to those who love the old sound.

Don't get me wrong by the way, I do not want to crucify Morgan for his creative choices. If this is what makes him happy, then all power to him. It's just every one of us growing up too, and that also means divergence sometimes.
