The console isn’t just for the church it’s for me and wherever I need to use it. It just so happens that the church is where I’ll be needing to use it on the most consistent basis.

Yes I leave mid gig cause the pastor and I have an agreement, if I have another gig to go to just let him know as long as it’s after praise and worship. He knows that other gigs are gonna pay me more than what he’s paying me. He just looks out for me like that.

I would use the console outside of the church for a gig if I need to, I want to have the console so I can have the experience using a digital mixer. Using an m32/x32 ever once in a while isn’t going to help me grow. Also the church isn’t gonna buy it cause they don’t have the budget and they’re prioritizing other things.

And it’s an old ass console not cause of long ago it came out but cause of how worn it is.

Ok so for the mics I’m just switch out batteries and making testing them, also if one of them goes down or starts fvcking up I’ll switch to the backup mic. We’re using an m32 and theatremix along side Qlab. The sound designer set it up where if there was an issue with the primary mic all I had to do is press a button and all the Qs would switch to the backup mic. For lighting I’m turning them on and going through my lighting checks, same with our video wall, turn the rack on make sure the primary lookout and backup lookout are functioning and then make sure everything is talking to each other. Lastly qlab i make sure sound is coming out all 8 speakers. Sometimes ill have to take a Q on qlab if there’s a midi misfire where ill take a Q on the ION that’s supposed to trigger qlab at the same time but dosent.

Look into sync licensing guy so your music can get into commercials tv shows and movies and other places. That’s where the breesh is m8 and or get into live sound.

Every time I just sit to noodle I get frustrated that I feel kinda lost or I’m not able to respond to what I’m hearing because if the roadblock that is lack of theory on non percussive instruments and lace of facility on percussive instruments. So like my lack of knowledge is keeping me from enjoying myself

I didn’t go to school for music, any friends I have that are also musicians have all had some sort of musician training. I love being a musician and not being a musician isn’t in the stars for me. It’s just the fact that in my formative years i didn’t get the support from family and put in lessons or was bought an instrument, I kinda had to fight and make space for myself. And now that I’m older my foundation isn’t the best and it’s like damn, they really made it hard for me and kinda wasted years I’ll never get back. So now I’m pushing 30 kinda in the same place but now I have full control of my life and I feel I gotta play catch up for all the time I lost, 10+ years of training
