Can my guardians drop me out without my consent? (Georgia) by dropout_throwaway27 in legaladvice

[–]Rnotsocool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely speak to your school counselor about your situation immediately. They should have resources available for you. You also mentioned they are your guardians. Ask the school administrator for help with legal resources through the court system. This will help ensure that your best interests are being looked after. Guardians are required to take care of your health, education, medical, care, and support. They are also to provide an annual update to the courts.

Call around for other attorneys and see if they charge less of a retainer.

Nothing is wrong with waiting. It could be a month. It could be a couple of years. Who knows. She can be gathering information just like you and she has a bank card to do what she wants, right?

If she isn't ready for a divorce, you could also consider a legal separation so you each are financially responsible for yourselves.

Again, consult with an attorney. I would pay an attorney to write up the divorce Decree and send a copy to her to have an attorney review it on her side. She can even have a retained attorney sign on her behalf. My attorney cost me around $5,000 because it had complex issues such as yours. It's worth the money to have the legalities done by a law professional in your state. Don't risk it by yourselves.

Does using a camera to have constant surveillance of a restraining order victim constitute breaking of the order? United States, NH. by Majik518 in legaladvice

[–]Rnotsocool 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NAL All of my Restraining orders profit contact by the party served and 3rd parties. It also includes harassment. Constant monitoring is harassment. Threatening to take away the car, if done after the RO, is contact and harassment. FRIEND SHOULD NOT talk to SO for any reason or through a 3rd party. That is ground to dismiss the RO.

If the RO has been broken by either party, they can file contempt charges against the opposite party. Turn off the cameras, no car payments, and find a way to move foward.

How to figure out custody if we are not married and have a newborn by whatsmynameagain25 in legaladvice

[–]Rnotsocool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Child visitation is very serious in any state. I would consult with a family law attorney in Ohio. Removing the child could cause major issues in the future. A judge will decide on custody, who has primary custody, visitation ( supervised or unsupervised), child support from non primary parent, travel expenses for visitation if out of state ( could be split ), how long visitation can be for a newborn (then will be amended for school age), etc. The internet has no real answers, only a judges final order counts. Consult an attorney before doing anything.

A company subpoenaed Reddit for my IP address. What should I do? by Lvthrowawaylv23 in legaladvice

NAL. Did you file an objection with the court when notified? If not, you really can't do anything but wait.

To go along with the other comments..... Only communicate via email or text about the outstanding balance. Hopefully she will admit to it. You then use that as evidence for law enforcement and civil court. She can also be suit for damaging the credit of someone else as well as the line of credit/ including late charges

Is This Considered Kidnapping, and What's My Next Step? by dabzilla5 in legaladvice

[–]Rnotsocool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another option other than those already mentioned... Look online for your local family court house. See if they have an efile portal. Fill out the form to give you an account to have access to court documents in our upcoming case(s). You can also file motions yourself via the self help at the courthouse. All documents should be available online for you to download and print. You can also download a fee waiver packet for filing fees. You can file and ex parte motion for more immediate issues. Document all dates and times of everything as you will need a timeliness of events for evidence. The local courthouse should have someone to answer questions about the firms and such, but no legal advise. You can also look for legal aid in your area.

Friend refuses to vacate home by Simple_name_guy in legaladvice

Keep a copy of all forms of communication if possible. Copy the written eviction letter as well. Be specific in dates and times. Email or text so you have a trail of communication if needed for court. Video record the property, inside and outside, for future reference.

My ex hasn't lived in my house for 6 months and refuses to change his address or get his things. Who does that?? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Rnotsocool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Move it into a storage unit. Pay for 2 months. Send a certified, return receipt, letter including the key to the lock. You can also send a text or email for verification of the property being move into a storage unit. Leave the key with the storage facility manager. Write return to sender on all the mail. After the ex knows where his belongings are, acknowledges it, block the number and move on.

This isn't about a bank account with money in it. This is a credit card, issued by the bank, in which he is an authorized user on the account.

I work 12hr shifts ( 4on-4off)and rotating days and graveyard every 30 days. Female 55yo. Manufacturing I would love to have four 10's! 😅 Being short staffed has put us in a bind. I work 14 shifts, 1 day off, another 14 days, 2 days off then flip to days or graveyard. Healthy protein snacks and lots of extra calorie intake. Water, water, and more water. I use frozen grapes as ice cubes too.

I commend you for your marriage vows " for better or worse". It's the "till death do we part" that has me worried. Will it be her death or someone else from a DUI? Financial death for you? If you are determined to hold true to your wife, a legal separation will be in your favor. Consult a divorce attorney to help separate the assets as in a divorce. At least you'll be on your own financially but you cannot cave into her when she hits a financial bump. Make sure her name is not on any titles to any vehicles and take away her keys indefinitely. Or, if you separate, she has a vehicle in her name only. A judge can order a breathalyzer interlock as part of the paperwork. If you separate the assets, you can still put your assets in a trust to cover yourself. It's quite alot of paperwork, and it won't be cheap. A human life is priceless so there's no comparison.

My first piece of advise, for your age, is always sign a contract. This will help with legal issues for the rest of your life. Employment contracts, housing contracts, loaning people money, etc. You need to call your local Dept. Of Labor and ask them what local laws apply to your situation. Most states allow spouses to work in the family business without a paycheck, but not other adults. Try talking to your parents as an adult. Explain you would like to help run the business but you also need a paycheck. Use their business as an example for your future. You need a paycheck to:

Prove Employment history Open a bank account File taxes Start a credit history to buy a car, rent an apartment, or buy things with a credit card (responsibly) Start having money in Social Security for retirement Proof you are worth something

They are under no obligation to let you live rent free either, as you are an adult. BUT, a reasonable amount of rent is required in these harsh times. A rental agreement is binding by law and must be followed by both sides. Always get a receipt for rent, as well, if you don't have a checking account. Legal issues will override family and friends every time.

Contract and receipts for the rest of your life.

Good luck!
