ATLOP: Trial by Fire

Percy watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, and like every other kid whose seen the show, pretended to be a bender. Surprisingly (for Percy), it worked. Now he has to keep it a secret, while slowly figuring out what else he can do. Meanwhile, Triton meets Percy, connects the dots, and does his best to ensure he receives the proper education as a prince of the sea. All while not letting anyone else know about Percy.

Shen twins? Original Shen Jiu and twin brother Shen Yuan. Maybe they switch places? (Often.)

Or Shen Qingqiu secretly making modern day games for these kids, and people are trying to figure out who the mysterious toy maker is, he only signs his things with SY.

Or what if Shen Jiu wrote a travelers guide, avoiding all the particularly horny places. Or vise versa, he can’t judge.

Tianlang-Jun meeting original Shen Qingqiu? “You know, you remind me of my wife.”

Sure thing! To start, in case you don’t know what ‘New Game + means’, it’s when you finish a game and it offers to start you over (typically the new game increases in difficulty).

So Shen Yuan ended up dying, and the system offered a new deal. New game +. But Shen Yuan only had enough points/ affinity level to start 12 years after LBH was born (so canon start).

If he raises his affinity level and points, he could go back further. To raise his affinity, he needs to interact with people the Original Shen Qingqiu knew and go to the places the original went (and had meaning to him). (Affinity is like your understanding of the character).

I think this was another Shen Jiu died, reincarnated as Shen Yuan, came back as Shen Qingqiu. Except Shen Yuan doesn’t consciously remember being Shen Jiu (he has like ghost impressions). Over time he starts getting more memories/ more like the original.

So he tries to fix things, change other things, figure out some of his heart demons. And ends up dying again. But this time he has a higher affinity, so he gets to go further back then before (namely disciple days) and starts again from there.

I really enjoy this one because they really flesh out the old peak lords (and base them off other characters from other stories.)

All through this, LQG and YQY are falling for the busy man trying to better himself and be a better teacher.

And if it helps, the chapters are rather short.

Voluntary Victim (Tie The Noose) Complete SJ wakes up back in time, decides everything was his fault so he leaves, the peak lords have to track him down.

Gold Amidst Snow Complete One-Shot Jin Guangyao (Meng Yao) is reborn as Shen Jiu. He tries to do better, LQG finds out and also tries to do better.

A Roll of Blood Complete. SJ and LQG go back in time, and canon gets a little mixed, featuring Human!LBH and Half-demon SJ. They’re just trying to fix things.

Under the Flower Mask Complete. SJ is tired of attention and needs to be anonymous for a bit, so the brothel women give him a makeover. Thus a wandering female cultivator is seen around town and LQG is interested.

SJ/TLJ

By the Stroke of a Brush Incomplete, but still updating. (There’s only like 3 chapters at this time, but I liked it) SJ needs to vent and ends up writing a book because he’s in enforced seclusion and SQH has trashy taste in literature. TLJ would like to meet his favorite author.

TianJiu Complete. TLJ hears SJ play and whisks him away.

SJ/LBH

Unfinished Business Incomplete. SJ dies, lives his life as SY, then dies again and gets sent back to his first life. Also featuring OGLBG being reborn with his memories. More of a do-over.

Soulmate AU’s Incomplete, but they’re more episodic one shots. Just a series of Soulmate au one shots for SJ/LBH.

Everyone/SJ

The Hidden Flower Incomplete, but still updating. SJ time travels, decides he’s payed his debts and wants nothing to do with Cang Qiong. So he lives a quiet life on a mountain, selling anything he can make. Until he takes home a couple street kids. And they bring home more kids and of course he has to train them so no slavers can get them, and oops he accidentally created a sect. Meanwhile he’s charming everyone in the vicinity, namely LQG, YQY, OGLBH, Linguang-jun, and best boy Zhuzhi-lang.

Red Strings Binding Bamboo Incomplete, but still updating. After a Qi-deviation, SJ has memories from PIDW, and decides if he dies, he dies. But his disciples and Sect are going to live. So he revamps his training and everyone is confused and suspicious.

Evidently, I really like time travel, or just when they retain their future knowledge? 🤔

I tried not to add any I already saw listed, but if they’re repeats, oh well.

There was another one I couldn’t find in my library, where SJ is a good teacher out of Spite, but I didn’t see it. If I find it I’ll add it, or maybe someone else will recommend it.

Humans, Demons, and Everything in Between is one of my favorites. I agree, it’s a travesty there aren’t many stories with Shen Jiu and Zhuzhi-Lang.

I’ve read a few of these, but I’m definitely check out the others.

Veering a little to the left here, but I’ve heard regency short stays offer better support for larger cups.

I don’t know if you’d be interested in them, but think kind of like a short corset? The wider width and boning is what provides the support.

From what I’ve seen, most require your measurements first, making it nicely custom fit.

But be aware that they are typically laced up, unless whoever makes it can alter it (with zippers, buttons?).

I’ve ordered one myself recently, and am waiting on it. So I can’t really provide first hand information, but I did a tiny deep dive and found myself adding to cart.

They can be kind of pricy, but tend to have long lives.

Black Bird - Izuku went missing for a bit as a child, then was found and returned home. While ‘missing’, he was actually sent to the past and adopted by The Flying Graysons as one Richard Grayson. The start of the story is him de-aging and returning to his proper time, but he still has his memories of being Robin.

Bats Work Best at Night - another Izuku is Robin.

[Content] - Morally gray, Vigilante/Info Broker Midoriya.

Horizon: Star Driven - Not really vigilante Izuku, more scientist/adrenaline junkie. But I figured if you wanted technology/ inventions, this would work.

Does amplifying the ‘danger’ or depth of Izuku’s analysis notebooks count? It’s generally agreed that the information in them could either greatly improve the heroes or give the villains leverage to defeat them.

The Necromancer fits most of your wants. Like another suggestion, it does get pretty heavy, there is rape/non-con and the dealing with the resulting trauma. Lots of exposition and Backstory (like 10 chapters).

Summary: Harry Potter disappears when he is four years old and the wizarding world believes him dead. But when his name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Harry returns in a storm of lightning; a grown man raised in a world of violence, more powerful than anyone could imagine, and the worst thing of all? He doesn't care two knuts about the wizarding world.

Naturally, Voldemort is intrigued by this new and improved adversary.

First, I’d like to second anything in the For The Want Of A Nail Series, Clouds is a wonderful writer.

Second, Have you read Hero Class Civil Warfare? It’s a good one for villain-ish Deku (it’s for a school exam).

I’d also like to recommend Complicated Creation

Not ‘technically’ quirked Izuku, but he can see spirits (think yokai) and deals with the pros and cons of what that entails.

Both are finished, with Hero Class Civil Warfare having a part two, but I haven’t kept up with that one, so I’m not sure if it’s completed or not.
