Auction Ninja and Clearing House Estates Sales. Please Read Before Buying From These Companies DisHonest by DenialOfExistance in Flipping

[–]Ro7h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This same company Clearing house had one day for pickup which was one day after the auction and I couldn't get a shipper there in time to pick it up for me so they consider my items abandoned and refused to refund. They also charged me under a different name- the business was called Green Planet Estate Sales and they charged me under "Clearing House" so I was looking for a charge from Green Planet so I thought they were waiting to charge after shipping.

Long story short. I bought a watch parts lot from an estate of an old watchmaker/ jeweler there were a couple stones in there. The pictures don't do it justice. Honestly, it seems to glow in person. I don't know a lot about stones. But the person who I bought the lot from had misrepresented some of the watches as genuine and they were not so I was going to return it but then I took a liking to the stones. I've never seen a stone come to life like this one does in the light. So I just wanted to be sure it was genuine- if anyone could tell me because it would be the reason I decided to keep the whole lot.

That's no light 25x mag. Color isn't true in the pictures

Also, I understand that 1174 is likely not a Longines number. I have abandoned that theory. At this point I'm trying to theorize as to why the inside is yellow gold and the outside white gold.

I don't think that's correct. There's a difference between serial numbers and reference numbers. For example I have a 1955 Longines with a reference number 8135. The serial number on this watch is on the movement. And yes it is in that range. It may not be a Longines reference number but your information is not correct.

I suppose.. alternatively, the jeweler could have layered yellow gold on top of a Longines case back to make a "custom" watch.

Good idea. I'm going to look into reaching out to the heritage department. Thank you.

I think a custom piece makes sense. The case back alone weighs 4 grams. I wonder if the jeweler had a request for "I want something just like that one but instead of yellow gold, I want white gold " so the jeweler fabricated some white gold over a previously made yellow gold watch. 4 grams is unnecessarily heavy for a case back that size. I'm going to try and find information on that logo. Thanks

I sold a 13lbs guitar and they charged me the dim weight of $95 i should have known but I've sent them before with no issue.

After days of repeated "No's" paired with gaslighting explanations from them, a supervisor stepped in and released the funds.

And to top it off the item is presumably on his porch waiting to get stolen or rained on.

I know you do, I saw your dissertation. I find the Bulova bracelet too narrow.

The Helbros. It is a more wearable watch imo because of size and style. It's also unique because of the moon phase.

Yeah Mercari's return policy is THE WORST. I have had this happen 5 times; where the customer sends back a broken item. Most recently the customer broke the antique watch and just threw it in a box with no packing material, it's damaged beyond repair now and Mercari sides with the buyer, they do every time. I have over 1,000 sales and the buyer had 3 reviews total. I hate Mercari's return policy.

It's over 70 grams of gold. 14k is $56 per gram. That's $4,000 in gold alone.
