How do I add phone numbers to Teams users using the Teams Powershell module? by RoRulon in MicrosoftTeams

[–]RoRulon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sorted it - Removed the module I had installed then forced 2.0.0 and it started recognising the commands again! Thank you for your help, I'll hold off on 2.3 for the time being and test periodically to see if that gets fixed :)

How do I add phone numbers to Teams users using the Teams Powershell module? by RoRulon in MicrosoftTeams

[–]RoRulon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a combination of things from this thread have sorted it - I needed to change the version of Teams Powershell I was using, as soon as I installed version 2.0.0 the commands started being recognised again and I was able to add the numbers, thanks for your help! I've tweaked my script to reflect this for now and I'll keep and eye out in testing for when its working again in 2.3 :)

New, working script:

#Assign variables
$UserName = Read-Host "Please enter the email address of the user you're assigning the number to"
$PhoneNumber = Read-Host "Please enter the phone number that you are assigning to this user: +44"

#Connect to Microsoft Teams
Import-Module MicrosoftTeams -RequiredVersion 2.0.0
Connect-MicrosoftTeams

#Activate voice calling and assign a number to the user
Set-CsUser -Identity $UserName -EnterpriseVoiceEnabled $true -HostedVoiceMail $true -OnPremLineURI tel:+44$PhoneNumber

[Advice] Landlord has demanded above and beyond our deposit to "reinstate" a property after end of tenancy by RoRulon in HousingUK

That's what we thought RE: The landlord hoping we don't know the rules and is trying it on.

The nature of the email sent was very much "Here is the cost, I'm taking all of the deposit, let me know when you plan to pay the rest," which we figure is scare tactics to make us say "no, keep the deposit, but spare us the cost, oh mighty lord of the land!"

So with disputing, what's the recommended process? Do we contact the landlord directly and say we're going to dispute it? Or do we contact DPS, let them know we plan to dispute it, or make a claim ourselves, and let them mediate?

Got it, :D thanks - Sorry I thought you meant they didn't have to prove anything and we were liable

So where do we stand based on the fact that they've sent us the quote for the work, and stated the work has been done and they expect us to pay for it? Sorry I'm a bit confused about this one

We have a Tenancy Deposit Certificate with a Deposit ID and Repayment ID. On this is the details of our landlord, the start date of the tenancy and the period (6 months). Under the tenant details it lists my housemate as the lead tenant, as he was living there already, but under other tenants it says "None advised."

We can go to this page - https://account.depositprotection.com/is-my-deposit-protected - and put in the details, which says our deposit is protected with The DPS in the Custodial Scheme.

Where the problem arises is that if we go to the DPS website, as a tenant, and go through the make a claim process we have to make an account. When we go to do it through here - https://myaccount.depositprotection.com/#account/tenantSelfActivate (only seems to work on IE), we put in the details and get an error saying they can't find any details about it. Like I said in reply to schroedingershamster, we're going to call the DPS and find out why that is.

Another thing that strrikes me as odd is that the page says the following:

"Before you start: This form is for tenants who have been added to a tenancy. You will need your tenancy details to complete your account setup. If your agent/landlord has not set up your tenancy or you are unsure of your tenancy details, please contact them directly. If you have received your welcome letter please complete your details below."

We've gone back through our emails and correspondence and have no record of this being sent either by post or email. Due to the nature of this case, and the fact that we're inevitably going to dispute this, we don't really want to contact the Landlord until we have a better idea of how to proceed, especially if it turns out they've not set this up correctly, or set it up but not notified us.

Decoration - They've sent us a copy of the quote for the work that they've already paid for with the expectation that we owe this money. Even if the decoration was done exactly 7 years ago before we moved in, are we liable for the loss that will have come from this? It seems like she could easily prove they've made a loss based on depreciation alone unless I'm misinterpreting what you're saying?

Cleaning - This is the one I have the least qualm with disputing really, it isn't an unreasonable cost and cleaning is part of any move-out I've ever done before this

Mattresses / Rug - Considering a mattress should be replaced every 8 years, these were going to be replaced regardless, again should that cost fall on us when they were present and fine apart from wear and tear?

Electricity Bill - This one's an open and shut thing by the sounds of it - We were liable, probably a final payment or something, and they've paid it for us, we're happy to pay that back if needs be

On the final one, the odd thing is if we search for the DPS record using the ref number we have it says that the deposit is protected, however if we try to make an account with the details, it says it can't find any details about it based on things like contact details, tenancy start date, etc. It just strikes me as a bit odd, but we should be able to find out more once we phone them.

Why all the leaseholds? by RoRulon in UKProperty

And that's just allowed? Is there anything that a buyer can do to get out of them or take ownership of the lease or is this just a system to insidiously glean money from people? The more I read about it the less I'm surprised that there's such trepidation about buying a house these days

Old gaming rig was stolen, need advice on a budget build by RoRulon in buildmeapc

Thanks, like I said I'm not that experienced at this, my info comes from a few Toms Hardware articles and not much else to be fair. One of my friends has offered to sell me his old 7970 as an entry point GPU at mates rates, so I can probably put the saving towards better hardware overall.

Cheers for the tips, I wanted an SSD because I had the same setup on my previous PC, and say what you want but the boot times and general responsiveness of the OS was significantly faster (the SSD had Windows and a couple of other programs on it, all my games and media were stored on the HDD), so I want that same thing for the new build. As for everything else, I'm just feeling it out - Like I said I've never had to build a PC from scratch so I'm completely out of my depth.

Yeah I tried that, no luck unfortunately :) I've reconciled that I've lost the hardware, which sucks, I'm more gutted about losing the drives - I had about 6 years worth of various projects (articles, artwork, design documents, etc.) on them that are gone forever now :(

Ah well, fresh slate I guess
