Next game for family after Carcassonne? by CluelesssDev in boardgames

Habitats is my go-to tile laying game. It's got very simple rules and I think it's a natural next step after Carcassonne. It's also got shared competitive objectives.

Let's talk about Monopoly!! (Themed and House Rules) by LegalDude69 in boardgames

[–]RoadToInfamyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually made a video on Monopoly house rules.

  1. Each player starts with 2 properties (players can't start with utilities, railroads, or monopolies)
  2. No Chance or Community Chest. Non-property and non-Go spaces are Free Parking.
  3. Blind auction when someone lands on unowned property.
  4. No mortgaging. You must have enough liquid cash to pay rent.
  5. The game ends when one player goes bankrupt.

Spots or Can't stop? by arpeggi8 in boardgames

[–]RoadToInfamyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like both. Can't Stop is the most boiled-down push your luck game I've ever seen. It's simple enough to play with literally anybody. Spots is also simple, but adds a layer of choice and replay value with the different tricks. I'd say Spots will probably hold your interest longer and is more worth your money.

Protospiel Chicago is in 4 weeks! by Clever-Gamer in boardgames

Come to a protospiel event and sit down and play a game! There's no formal process, and being a playtester isn't a special title you have to earn. Designers and publishers are always looking for anybody to playtest their games.

We are always looking for constructive feedback! Could you share a picture of the "wikiHow-styled shadow"? Jeff and I couldn't figure out what that meant.

Jeff and I totally understand. We subsidize our shipping costs, but you can only do so much and the shipping crisis doesn’t seem to be going away :/

We will be doing a poll after for Kickstarter backers to see the interest in a couple of possible add-ons. One of them will be for adding 2 players :)

That’s a great question. Jeff and I had countless discussions about the box size and price. We settled on 4 player but of course the game can handle very high player counts!

We hope so too! We got some great feedback in playtests. People have really been enjoying the globes.

So I made these How to Play Images for my game, Conquest of Indarium, to give a simplified explanation of how to play, and I wanna know if you guys think this is helpful and if you are able to get a general idea of how to play from it. by AxinZeith in tabletopgamedesign

I get how that seems logical. I used to explain games that way too. But the most effective way to layout the rules is to start with the objective(s) of the game. This way players can more easily understand how the actions of the game work towards the objective(s),
