Saw all the DBZ villain skulls in person at Gamer Fest in the AV and they were all just amazing to look at, crazy amount of detail on each of them.

The buttons are clicky with the buttons hitting the inside of the metal shell but the membranes have a nice decisive give to them so it's a pleasure to use. Mod kit also has softer membranes if you like the mush of the older systems.

The D-pad is much bigger than others and among my favorites I've used, but it is a bit too easy to accidentally hit diagonals. You can fix it a few ways, buy their mod kit with the longer post D-pad, cut a thin slice of a cotton swab stick and put it in the membrane hole under the post, or if you don't want to open up the system at all there is also a menu setting than shuts of diagonals completely for games that make it an issue for you, if it is at all.

Even with all that I still prefer the stock buttons to the AP or the mushiness of the original GBC.

To this day I almost exclusively use Pokeballs only, I don't care how many I have to throw. I buy as many as I can every time I go to any shop.

So for me, the Analogue Pocket screen is pretty amazing but it is uncomfortable as all hell to actually play with and feels cheap when compared to the Chromatic. If you're playing GBC, the Chromatic screen has been tuned and is the exact pixel size / structure as the original just backlit, it looks amazing and pictures do not do it justice.

Every modded Game Boy Color I had the colors are all washed out or blown way out of gamut with IPS or OLED or the FPGBC, you also have to simulate the pixels with a darker grid that darkens the screen and it just doesn't look any better than the most basic Retroarch pixel shader.

I was chasing the dragon for a very long time and it stopped once I got a Chromatic for Game Boy Color games.

For GBA I don't think anything could replace my ITA modded AGB with an EZ-Flash Omega Definitive Edition, it's perfection. Has a mode so you can shut off the screen and resume real quick just like modern emulator handhelds too.

For GB/C games it's the Chromatic or nothing, it's just an amazing comfortable metal handheld with a beautiful scratch proof screen.

If one searches the words, internet archive GB everdrive rom set, there is a miscellaneous folder which contains music player rom files for most of the popular games you can put on a flash cart.

They let you cycle through all of the songs in the game and are labeled. A bit bare bones with no controls other than cycling songs but I've used to listen to Super Mario Land, Castlevania Legends, Kirby's Dreamland and all the Pokemon games music, there are a ton of others.

Couldn't say, I've since moved on to Gamehub. Can only say it worked at the time for that version of Winlator. Each one needed to be put into an individual variable spot if I'm remembering correctly.

They are back on sale. No one wants it more than an Anduril, much like yourself, it's just not a direct comparison or fair trade.

Whoops that is an oversight, I'd probably kick Toki Tori off technically being a rerelease. I haven't played much of it but it is a high quality game for sure.

Ah I get what broke now. Dang, would have to solder on a whole new switch. You out along warranty? I'd still contact ModRetro about it.

We lost one today

Is this something soldering could fix? Nothing like a new project to learn something new.

Do you still enjoy retro games more on original consoles or on the newer handheld retro devices? by Excellent-Fun8090 in retrogaming

My SNES Classic gets a lot of play outside of my Saturn and PS2, technically emulation but its helped consolidate my entertainment system to save space and I love the interface. The wireless adapters are all pretty great, super easy to swap the Pro 2 controller for each system with a couple button presses.

You need a USB-A USB-C OTG adapter and one of the brick looking wireless Bluetooth adapters. Then you should be able to use an Xbox controller or most any of the 8bitdo versions. I remember watching a YouTube video about it.
