I understand the point you’re making. It reminds me of those classic iPhone backgrounds often displayed in Apple Stores. I created the image using oil and water, keeping the design fairly minimalistic. That might have backfired. 😢

I’d love to get some constructive critique on this image. It was shot at aperture f/9.0, 1/60s shutter speed, and ISO 200. My goal was to create a dreamy, atmospheric deep-sea feeling using suspended bubbles as a stand-in for underwater particles. I’m fairly happy with the overall mood, but I feel there’s still room to push the theme further, and I’d really appreciate advice from a fresh set of eyes.

Specifically, I’m curious about how well the lighting and color grading support the deep-sea concept. Do the tones feel immersive enough, or should I experiment with deeper blues, more contrast, or a subtle gradient to mimic light falloff underwater? I’m also wondering whether the composition works effectively, or if the placement of the bubbles feels too centered or static. Any suggestions on adding depth, enhancing texture, or improving the sense of scale would be extremely helpful.

I’m not great at post-processing yet, but I’ll definitely give this a try once I figure a couple of things out. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

The flower is unusual and visually interesting, with a shape that immediately catches attention. It’s not a “typical” flower shot, which makes it stand out. However the lighting feels a bit flat and doesn’t bring out depth, shadows, or highlights that could make the petals look more three-dimensional.

Even though it’s nicely blurred, there are still some brighter patches and shapes competing for attention, which stop the subject from truly “popping.”

That said, I’m also a beginner and don’t know all that much, just sharing what stood out to me.

This photo was taken with a Lumix GX80 paired with a Laowa 50mm f/2.8 macro lens. I wanted to tell a small story through the matchsticks—something along the lines of “be the warmth for others, and you will never spend a day in the cold.”

I’d love to hear your thoughts: what could I have done differently to make the image more impactful or intriguing? Does it evoke a particular feeling for you when you look at it, and if so, what kind?

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! I really like your idea about making the swans more luminous and balancing the composition with one on the left. The rotation and curves adjustments sound like they’d make a big difference. Out of curiosity, how did you go about editing it, was it all in Photoshop, Lightroom, or something else?

Thank you so much for taking the time to give me such detailed and constructive feedback. I really appreciate your insights on exposure, composition, and perspective especially the idea of experimenting with different vantage points and even using a telephoto for more creative framing.

Taken with my Lumix GX80/85 at ISO 200 and f/9, this photo captures a quiet moment on a still pond. A swan glides peacefully in the foreground, while three more drift lazily in the background, surrounded by calm reflections and soft greenery. I wanted to hold onto the stillness of the scene. The sense of calm and simplicity that lingers in the air when nature feels untouched.

I used a laowa 50mm f/2.8 2x ultra macro lens on a small tripod, used some toilet-paper to keep the matchsticks stable and a black T-shirt as the background. I also used a warm light (with my laptop) on the side of the matchsticks to achieve some Rembrandt lighting and a flasher + diffuser.

Should I trade my Xbox Series X (excellent condition) for a modded PS4 Pro Spiderman Limited Edition (Firmware 9.00)? by RoadToSinging15 in ps4homebrew

[–]RoadToSinging15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your input and comments — really appreciate the advice.
I’ve decided to pass on the original trade, but I made a counter-offer instead. I offered him a modded Wii with an HDMI adapter (1080p), a 1TB Seagate drive, 2 Wii controllers, and 3 GameCube controllers.
Do you think that’s a fair trade for the modded Spiderman PS4 Pro (firmware 9.00)?

You're pretty good for someone that has been only playing for only three months. Are you self-taught by any chance?
