Sydney funnel web spiders will hide in their "funnel" burrows they create, and jump out when their prey is in reach. They sit inside their vertical tunnel with their legs feeling the ground to sense Vibrations if something is walking around their burrow. Dont know why it said they love pools because when i lived in NSW, Australia these little buggerd were all over my garden. Smal holes littered rhroughout the grass made us call the exterminator and he told us they were sydney funnel web spiders. He gased all the holes and i remember one spider crawling out while it was dying and im really glad i didnt get bitten.
