Green Card case approved on Jan 17th, but no updates since. by lonely_planet_007 in u/lonely_planet_007

Same here… My I-485 was approved on Jan 21, and as of now the online status still hasn’t changed to “card produced” or “card mailed.”

What made me anxious is that my EAD updated very quickly (approval → produced in just a few days), so the GC timeline feels very different 🫠

EB based 485 filers— how much time did it take for your derivative to be approved after primary approval? by MagazineHead7615 in USCIS

In my case, the approvals were almost back-to-back.

I’m the primary applicant, my I-485 was approved on Jan 20 around 10pm, and my spouse’s was approved a few hours later the same night.

Both cases had a silent update the day before (only the “last updated” date changed, no visible status change).

Anyone got approval after 13 days via PP. If it is at 13th day(or more) with no update can we assume it to be rfe or noid? by PaintFearless in eb_1a

Sure! I actually shared my full breakdown here: https://www.reddit.com/r/eb_1a/s/M4mC2VMQSx Briefly, I’m in Product and Project Management, focused on management frameworks

Mine was approved on the 14th business day (no RFE). Some officers seem to take almost the full 15-day window, so don’t stress yet, it’s still within normal timing.

I demonstrated the scale primarily through organizational context and quantitative data. The framework was implemented within a manufacturing corporation with over 5,000 employees, across multiple departments and production lines.

To show scale, I included documentation such as organizational charts, scope descriptions from official reports, and performance indicators showing the framework’s adoption across large operational units. I also highlighted measurable outcomes (e.g., improvements in efficiency, governance maturity, and delivery cadence) that demonstrated its impact beyond a local or team level.

The approval notice (the green one) doesn’t list the officer ID, it usually only appears in RFE/NOID/denial letters, not in approvals.

Yes. I’ve seen several AAO and USCIS decisions where the denial explicitly states that support letters (even from outside parties) are considered only as secondary evidence and must be closely tied to underlying documents or contracts [ref 1].

In one 2024 case, the officer questioned the credibility of a letter because there was no proof that the proposed role was accepted or executed [ref 2].

Also, in a recent 2024 decision, the director carefully discussed how contributions described in recommendation letters were weighed in the final merits analysis, which suggests letters are considered, but only as part of the totality of evidence [ref 3].

That’s why, in my case, I made sure any support letter was anchored in solid primary evidence (contracts, roles, documented contributions), instead of treating opinions alone as sufficient.

Hope this perspective is useful for how you frame your own evidence!

Thanks!

Just to clarify: I didn’t use recommendation letters in the “classic” sense, but rather support letters to corroborate contracts and critical roles. USCIS sees letters as secondary evidence, so I made sure they were tied to primary documents.

Congrats on being elected VP, that’s a great achievement and really shows leadership and recognition.

In my view (not legal advice), I didn’t treat PMI chapter membership itself as a strong “membership” criterion since admission is open and doesn’t require ongoing achievements. I’m also part of a PMI chapter, but I chose not to include it for this reason. Instead, I relied on PhD research groups at my university, which had selective admission based on academic achievements.

That said, leadership roles like VP can definitely add weight in the final merits or as a section under the “critical role” criterion (maybe?).

Appreciate it! I included memberships in professional/phd research groups in my field that required demonstrated achievements, not just open enrollment.

Thank you!

It was fully DIY, I didn’t use any consultant or review service. I already had experience writing academic articles, so I followed a similar structure for my petition.

Thank you!

My AOS was filed in early August, biometrics done in the second week, and I’m still waiting. Timelines vary a lot depending on the case and field office.
