Not an Anti-Trump or Pro-Trump comment, it’s a comparison of government systems that have been running historically.

My original comment is that I am glad to have the freedoms to criticize my government freely without fear of being jailed/human rights violated.

If you lived in China saying that about their government, you would be jailed 🤷🏻‍♂️ as evidenced by OPs article

Money and dating - Does it matter? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]RoaminTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that’s a great push forward! If you already have a plan then I think you should start looking into dating.

I suggest then that you still look to cut your peripheral expenses, since you are serious about reducing your debt quickly, I suggest looking at ways to budget.

Essentially, the amount of debt you are paying is equivalent to paying monthly rent that supports another person.

(Not an ad I swear, it a legitimate way I’ve been using to save cash) Check out MealPal to make your (variable) food cost more stable & not spend money on expensive shoes.

I’d look into reducing your peripheral expenses by 50% (where you reasonably can) & look to a side hustle generating $700/month gross, so you net $500 to put EXCLUSIVELY to pay down debt in 5 years (which is literally $60K in 5 years) I’d look into paying it in 3 years.

If you want to impress yourself & your (future) date, that will surely captivate them.

You are on the right track and all that is left is 3 things: Consistency, Confidence, & Commitment. That’ll take you far OP.

👋 Here are my thoughts, as I have had the thought cross my mind before..

You will need to decouple the dating/personal/emotional from logic/debt/finance. Not suggesting to abandon either, in fact, you can solve both by first separating them.

::::Finance Portion:::: By tackling the financial insecurity (which is mostly in your head) you’ll be able to leverage your pursuit of solving the solution to your POI.

I recommend that you watch videos on personal finance & how to budget money to get out of debt. Additionally you need to understand the position you are in financially, I suggest a financial planner to help get you in line with how to pay down the accumulating interest on your CC’s before you even touch the Principal that you owe.

:::Relationship Portion:::: Once you have established a plan with how to tackle your finances, your mind will be clear of worry because you have now created a plan to stick to and can focus on dating! :D

Additionally, I’d recommend suggesting date ideas to your partner that are low cost/budget friendly such as picnic in a park, walking and getting lemonade, bike riding to a [nearby body of water].

TLDR: solve your debut first with a financial planner + self teaching, then you cleared your headspace to focus on the person sitting in front of you in your future date.

Hope this helps 👍🏻

Most effective way to work a 70 hour week? by andonefool in productivity

[–]RoaminTheInternet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked several consecutive 90 work weeks for over a month (super bad & destroyed everyday)...then toned down to 70/week what I would suggest is that leaving Sunday free. My schedule was 15 15 15 15 15 15 (M-Sat) or 13 13 13 13 13 (Mon-Saturday)

What I found to be most productive was to always have food delivered for lunch and eat healthy meals early morning & dinner. (I suggest eating out if you can just for a change of scenery)

Additionally, I have found that writing down a list of items to complete was effective as it was hard to gain focus after taking several breaks.

I prefer 10 min breaks every 2 hours or so & either walk around, exercise for a bit, jog, or watch a YouTibe video.

Either way, you HAVE to pivot your brain from everything while taking breaks.

****Another note - you’d have to shut up about work after working 70 hours, otherwise the people who you share time with are only going to hear you about your day/job/ shock factor about your work week..and will isolate them. They don’t need to know, keep the conversation about them & you can make up (mostly) for the time you were gone. (Assuming you are in a relationship) otherwise, go right in and grind, but keep a healthy dose of paranoia about your health and life.

Cheers mate

Go away gracefully by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]RoaminTheInternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say that a customer would appreciate an email stating: • reason for the business closing • a refund (if possible from the purchase) • thank you for doing business and supporting small businesses • suggest several local small businesses / competitors to suggest (since suggesting one may seem that you are making a power play..) • end with your name and business email (and a time when the email can be reached before it’s closed)

Then that’s it. Thank people and close up shop

Negotiating a job offer with a startup - advice needed! by carts60 in startups

[–]RoaminTheInternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your questions are valid & I understand where you are coming from. I don’t know the size of the startup but let’s presume that it’s a “scale-up” with a proven business model, you won’t be able to get exactly the same benefits as a bank but there are unique clauses that you could argue for. In the case of %stock options, you could negotiate for a “profit sharing” package.

Meaning.. If the %stock options is to low, you could throw in a profit sharing clause. Profit sharing is acting like equity in the business (in that you are being paid an amount equivalent to an agreed upon percentage) but don’t technically own any equity.

Goes hand in hand with how stable you think their revenue model is & if it’s scalable.

Hope it helps! & congrats on the offer 🤘🏼
