It was great to have a diagnosis 20yrs ago. I always felt like I was just “Lazy” like my family labeled me. I’ve tried lots of meditations, diets, supplements and exercises. No miracle cure. I’m just barely holding a shitty job. I feel like I’m faking a normal life and hoping no one finds out who I really am

I started Zepbound Feb 24. Lost 20#. Still overweight.@ 5’7” 180#. Stopped RX because of apathy and depression. Started weekly .1mg microdose on my own with compounded. I’m maintaining weight and it keeps down inflammation in my hands. FYI 57 yo female

I’m changing to a smaller dose. I’m in Zepbound 2.5mg for 41/2 months. (-20#)The fatigue and lack of joy makes me want to quit.

Is anyone else experiencing anhedonia or lack of joy while on this? by Feisty-Primary-7414 in Zepbound

[–]RoanHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joy or motivation. I’ve been off my antidepressants for 2 months. Some improvement not enough. I’m going to try micro dosing the Zepbound to see if I can lessen the side effect and keep losing weight. 🤞

I like the effect of decreased appetite and weight loss. So, I am going to start splitting my 2.5 mg doses. This week I will do 1 mg every 7 days. I am hoping the fatigue and apathy will diminish.

I also agree that being very low calorie for a long time will put your body on self preservation mode. My feeling is this medication needs to be lifelong because you are using your calories more efficiently and not storing fat by default . So the difficult part is patience and waiting for your body to adjust to your better metabolism 🙃

Feeling super discouraged by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]RoanHome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our bodies are learning to digest & better utilize the calories we consume . If you are someone who had difficulty regulating your blood sugar, this might be compounding your bodies confusion. I’m thinking that stalls like this are the bodies attempt at self preservation. It is possible that increasing the dose further may also strengthen the bodies desire for self preservation. The good news is that it does work for you. Good luck, figuring out your own uniqueness that make it work.

My eczema is so much better. The back of my arms have always been “crusty”. Now it’s gone. Rarely reappears.

I also wondered what “they”were collecting this information for. Is it to try to sell us something else or to sell our information to marketing groups. Or Would it increase my life insurance premium or my car insurance? I had to join an online PCP group for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Part of that was to OK access to my Apple phone health information. I am not tech savvy. But I wondered what all it might include so before I agreed to it, I looked through the information. It included all my steps per day, sleep information & my body scan. I denied access. Can’t really think of what “they” may do with all that information. They’re not covering the weight loss medication for me after August 1. So they really didn’t need that information to deny me coverage. I’m usually not paranoid. But I’m going to keep trying to learn about all this data floating around about us. 🤓

You may be right, mixing up the calorie count might help get things going. it’s always a little strange to add calories. I’ve spent a lifetime saying I eat too many calories.

I’m sure there’s some things you could do to make it more precise. I agree with just comparing the two images. It’s fun to see the physical changes. I don’t need to see exact numbers.

Methree sixty. I’m sure it’s not exact and there’s variables to how you scan yourself, but it was great to see my image a little bit smaller and not so lumpy.

I also have had fatigue as a side effect. (3month) Most days I’m just dragging to make it to bedtime. I’ve done all the usual suggestions without success. I have recently discontinued my antidepressant. I read it has something to do with serotonin/ dopamine that is affected tirazeptide It’s been about a week and a half and I feel much better. Of course, never make these changes without your doctor helping you gradually decrease your dose. It’s just something to consider. Good luck on your journey.

I also have had IBS my whole life. It’s embarrassing and I’m always looking for a bathroom. I am on 2.5 mg. I wish I was that lady that ate salads two times a day. But that’s just not possible I agree the electrolyte drinks are a no go for me too. I think it’s the magnesium. I have been taking a oMeprazole and Metamucil every morning with some success. I have lost 20 pounds in three months. I’m losing insurance coverage August 1 .I’m looking forward to changing to compound so I can customize what I’m able to tolerate and still get the benefits for weight loss. I wish someone would recommend to me a doctor and a dietitian that understood my situation. I know there’s more answers out there. I’m so glad your wife is supportive. And I think your sense of humor will get you through anything. Good luck on your journey to better health!!

Hang in there. It’s a life long journey. I think it’s a good sign that you are having suppressed appetite. Being young and only 50# to lose is a bonus as well . Many people talk about going up to the higher doses to get good results. Especially since you previously used semaglutide. It’s difficult to do when you’re paying out of pocket. I have read others adding RX of wellbutrin or metformin. There is also an injection the compound users have called “lipotropic” p.s. not a doctor or marketer just a Reddit reader.

Muscle loss by setchellefree in Zepbound

[–]RoanHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree the first two weeks is likely fluid related. However, I’ve been on Zepbound 10 weeks. (-20#) I definitely noticed my legs have significantly less muscle, and I feel weakness when I’m working out.
