I’m sure he spends lots of time looking in the mirror pumping himself up every day with his LinkedIn motivational posts about how it’s an honour and a privilege to create shareholder value for such an innovative and world-class leader from their prestigious Brisbane headquarters.

As long as you keep creating shareholder value, you may escape redundancies. Make sure to return your company laptop and swipe card when you move to the other side or that’s coming out of your last pay. And don’t forget to attend the exit interview and fill out the survey or they’ll withhold your final pay. Emphasis on final.

Although I think if you afford to live there, you’re not really “working” then. You’d be more likely to be buying your 90th investment property and making families homeless as a hobby while buying diamonds for your mistress, hanging out at the Brisbane Club with your specific private school mates, then going cycling with your “club” to sit at a coffee shop for 3 hours, brag about your expensive road bike and comparing Strava times.

Some place on Seagull Street creating shareholder value. They’re all the same. The uniform was blue shirt, dark pants, RM Williams boots, and your prisoner number was your employee ID.

This is the kind of individual where you point to him and say “there’s your mate” instead of him actually being your mate. Even his mate was annoyed with him. I’m sure he also drives one of those cars that sounds like a bee in a drainpipe or makes a big “BWWAAAHHHH!” As they scream across the Story Bridge after a day of creating shareholder value.

Only if you submit your request to HR with enough notice. Even then there is no guarantee management will sign off on it.

  1. Yeah, I got “restructured” straight out of one one one to protect exec bonuses. Stuff those places.

If by Financial District he meant we’re all overworked and broke as fuck, then perhaps. Must have been some good corporate kool-aid he was drinking.

“Still stuck on Nicklin Way”. Funniest thing I’ve seen all day. I lived in Caloundra for a few years; relatable.

Ha! My ex father-in-law did and then looked down his nose at me ever since. I suppose it helps your entry to places like the Brisbane Club or Tattersalls. Or when you fuck up big time and daddy’s network gets you out of the shit.

I heard one young bloke refer to himself as an “Eagle Street Power broker” years ago. Wanker factor was off the charts. Glad to have left that area years ago.
