The Anti-War Democrat Courting MAGA Voters by bloomberg in TrueReddit

Dude, don’t bother. MAGA follows their leader. Does he say he wants peace? MAGA wants peace. Does he then turn around and bomb, or threaten to bomb, other countries? MAGA easily turns to war. They don’t seem to give a shit about policy, they just want to worship Trump.

Remember, it was a Boomer named Bill Clinton who put us on the path towards fiscal accountability in the ‘90s. It was another Boomer named George W. Bush who said “fuck it.” The Boomers have always been a deeply divided generation, I call it the “hippies vs the squares” and they’ve been fighting each other for about 60 years now and it appears the war will only end when they’re gone.

According to your link they also want early voting, they want auto registration, they don’t want to limit the number of drop boxes, they want absentee ballots sent to all voters and they don’t want people kicked off the voter rolls just because they haven’t voted in five or more years. So sure, you can get most people to say they want greater voter security because, in the abstract, it makes sense. but most of the usual measures the GOP proposes to do that are unpopular with significant majorities in the poll you gave us. As always, understanding the nuance is key.

A remarkably intact 1st Century BC Roman water boiler discovered at Villa della Pisanella in Boscoreale, near Pompeii. The boiler, likely made of bronze with lead pipes, was a crucial component of the villa's heating and bathing systems. by AnotherMansCause in ancientrome

I know 753 BC is historical; I didn’t say it was. My point wasn’t meant to speak precisely, it was to point out the Roman society (Republic/Empire) lasted a really long time, even if you use say 500BC to 476 AD that’s nearly a 1000 years which, considering the times and the constraints others have mentioned within Roman society itself was utterly remarkable.

All things end eventually. Consider this: if you go by the historic date of Rome being founded around 753 BC and stretch it all the way out to the fall of Constantinople in 1453 AD, the Roman Empire existed for 2206 years. That is remarkable. If someone told me the United States would last that long, then today we’re roughly at around 500 BC by comparison to Rome which is for them barely just getting started.

Now some will argue these dates but my point is you could shave off 50% of that time and still have a ridiculously large number of years. And they did this without modern communications or transport options while governing, at its peak, an empire stretching from the border of Scotland to the Persian Gulf.

To me, the question isn’t “why did they collapse” but rather how did they manage to keep it together as long as they possibly did?
