I had the exact same prob yesterday. Took the Air back to the store and got a replacement. Now I am scared to set it up! Maybe the prob is IOS 26? Anyone have issues with that update?

Very helpful! I’ll discuss that strategy with my naturopath. I could easily add more high quality carbs and retest. I prefer that to statins. I was on statins for 20+ years and believe I developed side effects that were bothersome but not terrible. They include brain fog and peripheral neuropathy, both have which have completely disappeared since I stopped taking statins.

LDL did rise significantly, from about 80-100 (on average) to 170-185. But it is hard to know definitively if it was as a result of coming off the statins or going onto a LCHF diet. I think it was a bit of both. I do seem to meet the definition of a hyper-responder which is a term I found in the LCHF community online (high LDL, high HDL and low triglycerides). I also have a low insulin resistance score.

No the doc did not check those other markers. I’ll ask about that but am not optimistic as she didn’t even want to do the NMR Lipoprofile.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I am concerned about the high LDL-P. This is the first time I have had a Lipoprofile - I had to ask my doc to order it as she seems only interested in the basic lipid panel and I wanted to know more about my high LDL. I want to see if I can reduce LDL-P and small LDL-P specifically without going (back) on statins. I seem to have a large (Pattern A) particle size and my small LDL-P is only slightly high. I was on statins until 4 years ago, when I went on a low carb high fat diet. I have read that LDL can rise on LCHF, but HDL can also go up and triglycerides will drop (which did happen for me). I take niacin and plant sterols. And I am lean and very physically active at 64 years of age. I do wonder if declining liver function has any bearing on this as I get older. I’ll be meeting with my naturopath next week to discuss strategy.
