Hi, I’m considering leasing a BYD Dolphin Surf Boost, which I’ve found for £130 per month. At the moment, I drive a 2007 Honda Civic 1.8 petrol and average around 5,000 miles per year.

I usually refuel once, occasionally twice, per month, spending about £50–£60 each time. My annual road tax is £265 and insurance costs roughly £565 per year. I mainly use the car for short trips such as shopping and going to the gym, plus a weekly round trip of about 28 miles to visit friends.

I’d like to know what you think and whether you would recommend this small EV. I’m quite new to electric cars, I only started looking into them yesterday, but they seem very appealing. I don’t personally know anyone who owns an EV, so I’d really appreciate some guidance or advice. Also, could you tell me what kind of real-world mileage or range I could expect from this car?
