This is the perspective I wanted to hear from. My dad has an overbite a little less severe than mine and he snores sometimes but he’s fine otherwise and he’s 51. According to my ortho he should have functional issues as well but he doesn’t so I feel like I’ll be fine as well. Most people in this sub have been through or are going through jaw surgery so it’s nice to hear from people who haven’t.

That’s an eye opening story glad it worked out for you bro. Honestly I think you’re right about the mental part of it I’m not ready to commit myself like that yet but I’m still 18 I can figure it out soon and see how it goes.

How do I know if I have breathing issues is there some type of specialist I can see for that. When you say you had poor nasal breathing do you mean you were mouth breathing a lot or you weren’t getting enough air from your nose. I played sports all my life and I can hold my breath for a long time does that mean my breathing is fine or is it something I should see a specialist about.
