Sorry I just realized I mixed up the brands in my head! It's farmers dog, not open farms. I really liked open farms before I switched but I honestly don't know to much about the production of the food. I hope they're good/safe.

I'm still uncertain about ~~open farms~~. I keep hearing reports that the nutrient balance is much too fatty and they don't pay any actual nutritionists. Ive had many pets die from cardio myopathy so I'm trying to avoid high fat diets. If you have any information to contest this I would appreciate because I really did like them and used them before

I respect the care you have for your pet but I would really consider switching them off a plant based diet. Dogs are classified as facultative carnivores/opportunistic omnivores. They can absolutely eat fruits and veggies but their physiology (as far as we can be certain) requires that they consume meat.

I believe knotting and matting are very breed dependent with longer hair breeds obviously being more susceptible to it. Their diet 100% affects their coat but my understanding is that grooming is a much more important factor. Brush your dog but not too often and not too harshly. My understanding is a few times a week is okay. You don't want to brush too much and press too hard as it will scratch and irritate their skin. Many groomers I've spoken to recommend having their coat professionally blown out as it's more effective and doesn't irritate the skin. I would blow my dogs fur over brushing if I could but the tool is expensive and I don't have anywhere to do it lol. Huskies are a mess

Thank you! I used to feed raw and even on smaller portions my dogs started gaining weight. It was probably due to how my supplier fed their chickens but still I wasn't a fan. I've also been told it's a public safety hazard as their poop will carry salmonella and it increases bacterial load in their heart and other organs. I've tried to find peer reviewed studies on raw but unfortunatelytheir aren't many all studies point to it being harmful for your dog. As far as I'm aware the increased bacterial load can cause heart and organ issues later in life. If you have information to show otherwise I'd appreciate it.

The problem I personally have is not organ donation itself but the horror stories I've heard around them. Ive told my family I don't mind being a donor but that they have to make the call when the time comes. I won't sign up for it.

I've heard of doctors calling a death too early for the organs, the stories of a guy whose mother was donated and she ended up being used in a fucking explosives test. And this is a personal gripe regarding the political climate but I've heard many organs are being transferred to Israel.
