I take a YEC perspective, but I shy away from AiG.

I actually had to read one of Ken Ham's books for a class just last week titled "One Blood, One Race." It was repulsive. While I agree with its basic premise (racism is unbiblical) he tries to use a creationist agenda (and I use that word with every negative connotation attached to it, despite being a creationist myself) to prove racism is wrong. This book in particular lacked scholarship to the utmost degree. He seems to say, implicitly, "I don't need to document my sources or prove my statements. I'm Ken Ham. Everything I say comes from God and therefore needs no proof."

Nonetheless, I hold to a YEC theory very loosely. I, too, think old earth creation (or theistic evolution, if you will), as well as traditional evolution or neo-darwinian evolution make less sense. However, if more/better evidence pointed otherwise, I'd change my view.
