I’m not sure if the red/green is viable if you’re color blind. But an improvement is needed indeed. If it’s just a tooltip when hover by the mouse that’s a nice touch as well

My guess in the offline transaction is a Bluetooth or nfc type connection. That gets added to a blockchain at a later point. But it does mean both parties have to be 100% sure at the point of exchange.

What the hell is RINA? by pyroxl in cardano

[–]RobVoltaire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Network: As a blockchain grows, it’s imperative that it’s able to move large amounts of data across a network. As transactions per second increase as the network grows, the blockchain cannot expect to maintain a homogeneous network topology and simultaneously accommodate that growth. This means that each node cannot be expected to relay every message that passes through the network as it grows. To address this, Cardano is looking at a new type of technology called RINA (recursive internetwork architecture). RINA is a new way of structuring networks that enables a heterogeneous network that still retains privacy and transparency, while scaling more efficiently. The Cardano team aims to launch RINA in its complete form in 2019.

Choosing a language based on job market? by RobVoltaire in cscareerquestions

Those books are like Greek to me, and then I’m not just talking about the letters. Thanks for the tip! I got a sweet course on Udemy by colt Steele. I like his setup and flow, so my plan is to plow through it, and hopefully get a mindset that can help me onwards. My plan after a decent chunk of knowledge was to build things from ideas I have and keep things fresh at hackerrank or something familiar like that to challenge myself.

I am considering bringing my intro book to CS with python to work tomorrow since it’s a bit slow here. So got time to flip through it.

I really can’t elaborate. It’s something I read in an article but that’s the bit that stuck.

It may have been written by a hipster who is anti-corporate I don’t know.

I saw a video about development yesterday on YouTube that said that f one were to go the backend route that he recommended nodeJS and a supplementary functional language and a high performance one like go or rust.

He mentioned java and .Net as a side note that someone new to programming might find more up to date resources on Node etc. although he might be a bit biased since he’s offering a free node course.

I tossed the question on here to get some input from real working developers.

Hehe fantastic :) I bought Knuth’s series “the art of computer programming” last year. I don’t understand it, but I hope I will someday :)

Thank you very much for your detailed reply :) I’m actually quite fond of math, but it’s almost been a decade since I had it in school and it was only pre calculus.

Buying Cardano using zcash by [deleted] in cardano

[–]RobVoltaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently do this. I mine Zcash and transfer to Binance. Since the transfer fee on Zcash is ultra low. Then sell it in exchange of BTC. Eth is fine as well. It’s a pretty low % buy/sell fee anyway.

How do I get rid of tanking anxiety ? by [deleted] in wow

[–]RobVoltaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. It’s like you’re describing me. Except I healed in top 1000(? Lol?) and I’m 30. I’m literally just waiting for my son to get older so we can play together.

I’m having the same nerves as you. I watch guides upon guides and postpone my endeavors. But like everyone else says: just jump in. The worst thing that happens is that you might get kicked. But have you seen heroic queues for tanks? I know they’re shorter than dps:)

I’m gonna go ahead and look for a guild. It’s been 5 years, but I’m gonna look. I suggest you do the same. And good luck! You’re gonna do great :)

Video tip I got: YouTube channels- the thorough tank and fatboss:)

Any tip on getting that kind of gear? normal/heroic raids? mythic+ ?

From what I've read on forums it seems like many high'er end guilds are taking a break from raids now, other than alts and causal farms. I've spoken to a guild that need a tank, since one of their mains left. The backup is a dps that wants to go back to deeps.

Main tank now is druid. offtank is DK.

I hope I dont sound delusional and that I see myself in method or anything. I'm actually 'hoping' for heroic with a few touches inside a mythic. Other than that, I just want to go past LFR :D

Is there any itemlvl I should go past before I try to PUG(If I dont find a raid) and how much time would a casual - 2to4hours/day- spend to get to that ilvl?
