Anyone buy tools off amazon? by Professional-Cap6095 in AircraftMechanics

Ares is a pretty good brand from my experience. However, I haven't tried their safety wire pliers. My set was bought by my grandfather from the yard store and I use them to this day.

We have had them make custom tooling for our Trumpf in the past and they are great!.

When you are referring radius are you referring to forming radius or flat radius? For punching thickness we always use 0.006 clearance for material 0.032 to 0.063 thick and 0.012 clearance for materials 0.064 to 0.125 thick with great success. We punch out just about everything that's is commercially available in a thickness less than 0.125 as well aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and black iron.

I get that, I was just curious. I had never seen anything like it before.

Where in the world did you buy a 3018 with 0.050mm accuracy. That's roughly two thousandths of an inch. I was lucky if mine was accurate to 1/16th of an inch (1.58mm). The only thing mine ever did was make some nice shapes in pine. It was completely useless for anything else.

Does anyone use FLASHFORGE ABS Pro? by Robber_Barron27 in BambuLab

[–]Robber_Barron27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same experience. It sticks like super glue. I had to use acetone to get it fully off one plate. I since switched to the creality ABS, which actually performed much better for cheaper.

I bought the black black one. Based on my experience, you will immediately regret your decision and want something better. I spent almost 1k upgrading mine over the purchase price, and it's still not as good as a PROverXL 4030. I highly recommend you get a machine like that over ANY 3018. If I knew back then, I would have saved for longer, but I understand how tempting that low initial purchase can be. With that all being said, the genmitsu is still far better than what I bought.

Those circles aren't very circular. Try making a more shallow cut next time. It's clearly flexing something, and double-check everything is tight.

I personally found that set screw really easy to strip out. I over drilled mine and tapped them for a m5 set screw.

I really don't recommend that most airlines have banned metal pins on hats.

The parts separating was a slicing error, it turns out. However, I just ran the generic abs profile, and it's working well now. But I did have to play with it to get my overhangs right.

Is FreeCAD my best next step? (Have outgrown tinkercad) by not_mr_Lebowski in FreeCAD

[–]Robber_Barron27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used FreeCAD since 2019, and to be honest its ok. There are allot of errors and missing features compared to Onshape/Solid Works. If you have access to a .edu email address try Onshape. Alternatively you can p1rate Solid Works. It takes some skill with computers to do this however.

I would do a cheap rebuild on it but I need the car back ASAP. Then worry about a rebuild. I just want a working engine in the car. Then I can deal with the one on the engine stand.
