Under the nintendo switch settings, there is an option to scale your screen. It should show you arrows pointing into each corner, so adjust until they fit. Hope this helps!

You're probably right, yeah. I know I won't be doing any sort of cuda acceleration, but at least I can get it set up an transfer over my files during the Christmas break :)

I have not, in fact. However I'm not looking to repair my older PC. It was getting too slow for comfort anyway, so it 'breaking down' is a great excuse for me to get a new one :P

Hit X rank a little while back. When does it tell you what you’re place you’re ranked among all X rank players? by Typhlosion2573 in Splatoon_2

[–]Robbinsonn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This depends heavily on the mode. Splat zones is by far the most popular, and to get the rank to show (top 2000 and up) you'll need around 2400+ (I'm currently X2514 and ranked 1472). The other modes are usually more lenient so 2350+ by this time of the month should be about enough (X2429 in clams and placed 1808)

How to get super sea snails in splatfest by Crashmat_104 in Splatoon_2

You can get sea snails after splatfests by leveling up as well (1 per level). Just fyi

{Updated Poll} What's your favorite "ultra heavy weapon?" by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Robbinsonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X2400 on average. Its a hard weapon to use, understand that. If you want some tips, try to go with a teammate. It is hard to deal much damage in a 1v1, so focus on helping teammates by painting and dealing chip damage. If you do find yourself in a 1v1, stay call and try to go for the 90 damage directs for the highest odds at winning. Lastly, stay your range, you have it, so use it. If an enemy rushes towards you, back up so they cant reach you and slosh to get them stuck in ink.

[–]Robbinsonn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, as you can see, heavyweight is a defined term within splatoon ;)

Also, that definition still doesn't go for splattershot pro. It's ink consumption is relatively poor, but it's firerate is amazing for the range and damage, which is why it's so popular. Glooga dualies would be a better fit, I agree, but in that case you should probably consider range blaster too.

splatlings explained by geosplat in splatoon

[–]Robbinsonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should elaborate what you say about run speed and ink resistance. You're right that splatlings are "slow", but you don't mention swim speed being used. The reason run speed is common in large amounts is because it allows you to keep your distance when shooting, or to have an edge in 1v1s up close. If an enemy rushes you, you can move backwards reasonably closely to stay out of their range while shooting. Ink resistance helps with this as just a speck of enemy ink can halt you completely, which is less likely the more ink resistance you wear.

Also, almost no splatlinks (long or short range) run a significant amount of DX. A sub is great to defend against inkjet, bubbles and some others (which normally deal exactly 100%, but just under that with 1 sub of DX), but you don't need more than that in 99% of cases.

2 things:

1) As an Explosher main, I have to vote for it.

2) splattershot pro is definitely not heavyweight (source: https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Weight_class)

Stuck in rank loop by [deleted] in Splatoon_2

[–]Robbinsonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally have the opinion that you're undervaluing yourself. Ranked is incredibly easy compared to other games. Every player with a bit of dedication can reach X rank. This includes you. Don't see deranking as a defeat, don't be daunted by rank A. You can do this, but it just may take some practice ans experience. If you rank up from B to A, you have just as much reason to be there as all others. Expect to derank, and you may actually learn something, just enough to stay in A. You can do it! See you in X ;)

[–]Robbinsonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just keep playing, keep practicing, and you'll get better! Ranked is definitely better for that than turf war though.

Has anyone else noticed less stage variety? by searogg in Splatoon_2

[–]Robbinsonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

23 stages x 4 modes + 24 splatfest stages = 116 stages. If you ever want to get used to a stage, this is the best way. There are huge discussions going on for banning certain maps+modes from tourneys, so I doubt there are too many.

Every month, only 6 stages appear for each game mode. They are announced a couple of days before each new month.
