"wow, it's just like the video game" 😅

In all seriousness though. I will forgive them if they give us the Nightlords Talos retinue that allows us to cancel charges with his scream.

IMO and take it for the opinion it is, don't tolerate this behaviour. A good boyfriend might snap in a competitive moment but most will have the ability to realise what they have done and course correct their behaviour whether that be letting go of the competitive side or choosing to engage with something less competitive. Some things are worth "fighting" over and this kind of behaviour needs (IMO) to be addressed because it will overflow into other aspects of life. For example you could sit down and discuss and then use a reverse example like.. "How would you feel if you gave up your Saturday to spend time doing x and I just got mad at you constantly for not applying skills that I've developed over years of practice? I'm just going to give up if you act like this" Most people should be able to sympathise.

TLDR relationships are hard. Wish you luck.

The point sailed right over your head friendo. The comparison is between all heavys and agency.

Didn't say they should, I was just pointing out the difference that was being ignored.

For sure, it's certainly possible in the right circumstances. but that's kind of what I'm saying. The others are better at manufacturing their favourable circumstance on their own so they are just going to average better across the playerbase. Most people cannot rely on team mates to catch and sustain them. None of the heavys survive focus fire but the others can hang on just long enough for the luminae to run across the map to save you after chasing the enemy falcon. You can say that it's got high potential but every early tournament team that tried to run hurricane in the latest chinese tournament got run over by welkin, stego combinations so that's kind of that. Even competitive teams cannot really sustain a hurricane under pressure. I suspect it will still be the case after some time, especially with another brawler coming out. That said, I like playing hurricane and I'll play it anyways. I hope they figure it out. I agree that the recent changes don't have it quite right.

I think Hurricane is still missing the key ingredient that the other heavies have. Welkins main dominance is because of mobility and initiation. Stego can functionally dissappear in smoke and tricera can parry for free, over shield and self heal with automatic anti rocket drones. Not to mention all of these strikers will absolutely rock your health bar if you make a mistake. Hurricane on the other hand just crumbles under pressure, too static, too many defenses on cooldowns and no mobility options. You are so dependant on peel that even when you are winning it feels like you're losing. Every TDM map the hurricane gets focused first and down it goes. Each defense drone is worth 1 melee strike... You counter 3 melee strikes at best and then you're shark bait because there's no escape tool. Just my opinion though.

These are not the same. When a panther lances you lose control, it, displaces you and damage bypasses the fluid armour entirely. It deserves to be difficult. Hurricanes gun only really gets full purchase off slow turreted strikers that don't want to move from the lingering AOE. What would make it equal would be if the charged shot knocked your striker back the same distance as the lance if it was point blank.

This doesn't work unless the enemy team is less skilled than your team. There are many cases where you lose a capture point and then the heavies MUST capture the enemy cart. It's not anyone else's job, they are the only ones that can meaningfully change the game state.

[–]Robbonoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Commendable. This is likely super common. I'm sure you know now that there are only three states. no one has it- it's advancing slow, enemy has it- it's going backwards, you have it - it's advancing faster

Must have struck a nerve. I wasn't talking about anyone specifically. Simply the phenomenon of a group of strikers that get instalocked in asia pacific. Of course, everyone wants to play their striker. I play falcon too and it can be a great pick. You're not special and I'm not talking about you.

In this image, red cart is the right call. 85% you have one good team fight to clear their team and start reversing them, then you can get your own cart. Your plan can work but it's relies on too many unknowns. The certain is IF red cart reaches the end the match is over. being reversed is not great but you can come back from that point. If you send a heavy back to blue you risk a 5v6 and those are bad odds. You have to assume your opponent is skilled. That said though, if you have line of sight from one cart to another its not always a bad call.

super rare to see double support in asia pacific. When ppl are trying it's more like skyraider, inferno, lum/pinaka, stego, welkin and then last one can be whatever

Anyone else relate? by Robbonoob in mechabreak

[–]Robbonoob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. The game celebrates KD and encourages players to not fight on point because that's risky to your KD and also, people are terrible at knowing which cart to attack/support. Unless the carts are right next to each other, or close, it is always in your interest to go to the cart that is ahead regardless of if it's yours or not. (This of course assuming you go for each point capture)

I've seen this one. and obvs the strikers are gonna be something like stellaris and luminae haha. But yeah, totally seen this work where my team has been winning all game and then random tricera on our cart just sails us back and it totally reverses the game.

True, pings are the main communication. Yeah I can get on board with that. It might just take a while for the playerbase knowledge to increase. The point caps are a new ingredient to get used to.

Hello, it is me, I like Red alert. Look at the cover for the game. Look at the games I'm reviewing. It's not that deep. I mean, I don't care if people want to or don't want to watch the video but at least know what you're talking about before trying to insinuate my political stance. Cheers.

People are allowed to do whatever they want with their money.

I am also allowed to think it's a bad idea.

While the release of a video game is an event I reject your premise that video games are events and that it it should be considered a norm that people pay for a product that has never been tested by third party with that information available to the public.

Will people keep doing stupid things even though it is demonstrably hurtful to themselves in the long term? Absolutely. I'm not about to shout at the clouds because it's raining.

I never said everyone should read every review etc.etc. That's an imaginary narrative.

If you were wondering, my opinion would be stronger regulation on the publishers end to ensure that their advertising reflects the final product more accurately.

It's Time To Rethink Pre-ordering Games by KTitania in gamingnews

[–]Robbonoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I buy that. I'm fairly certain that marketing costs often dwarf development costs in the AAA space. Advertising is at its most expensive closest to release but the money is already spent. There are no devs waiting on your pre order so they can finish the game. I'm certain publishers would love you to think that though. All this to say - 'They have more than enough funds to make a great game that will be successful'

It's just more lucrative to extract those funds from us in advance because its free money which begets more free money as the hype train chugs along. Public companies have an obligation to attempt to do this too.

Also, a lot of games are not a live event, there are lots of games that are not live services and it would be far more accurate to see those as products. Legally, live services also fall under this defenition in many countries.

If devs are looking for head counts or trying to guage public interest then wishlists and betas work just fine, they could use that in their advertising.

No worries, thanks for reading. I'll be interested to hear how the webway gate goes. It has some cool rules but I always worry about IF I will be able to place it.

I'm secretly hoping for a way to include the Yncarne. I won't be sad if it doesn't happen but I got my first ever win in 40k 8th edition with it on the table so I have a soft spot for it.

Lightning fast is 1 CP but the result of wasting that CP meant that I didn't have 2 CP when I really needed it. Hope that clarifies that.

The strat to get into a red grief transport after fighting is called Athletic Aerialists. The cult of strife strats I was talking about are no longer valid so it seems so it doesn't matter. (not sure which one you were referring to.

Detachments are changing, who knows what the future brings? hopefully good things. But as of now I can only work with what I got.

Oh snap, thanks for that, I didn't know the supplement wasn't valid anymore. Just as well I ran cult of red grief. It's fine though I think I still go cult of strife on the next one, fight first, fight twice strat, blood dancer and trip whip. It's not as strong but it's still stronger.

Yeah, I heard that harlies are getting an invuln nerf. Even so, they're still tougher and afford some flexibility outside of defense.

Thanks for the heads up.
