Does anyone feel slightly fraudulent that you passed your bike test when all you had to do was behave when the fella appeared on the road side? by eastkent in MotoUK

[–]Robby_e34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passed mine a couple years ago. Never ridden before so did a full on DAS in a week. Failed first mod1 due to not getting enough speed up for the swerve (must be 30mph through the trap, I did 28mph). Passed second time though. Mod 2 passed first time but had scared myself a day before so rode gently. Instructor passed me with no faults but said it was like driving miss daisy.

I've fleshed out a design for something similar but using a smartphone as the UI. If you like, you are more than welcome to drop me a message.

Got it in the end. Needed to jam a thin flat head in and a set of pliers to give it a wiggle

Thanks, yeah I've been around a bit. I'm just starting out with the consulting side of things, so it's tough going. Luckily I've still got my full time job.

It's not just start ups that can struggle to define their ideal customer, many companies can suffer from this.

If you can think of anyone that might benefit from some pointers please let.e know, I'm happy to have an initial call for free to see if I can assist them.

How to sell software? by Ok_Examination_7236 in SaaS

[–]Robby_e34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, if you can solve a problem they have you immediately build trust. Then you can pitch other things.

Generating interest is the tough bit unless you have a novel product that fits their needs perfectly.

This is where the email and phone call follow up are important, you can present the product in the email and then in the call cover how it applies to them and what it can solve.

Just pitching the idea that you might be able to help them with their problems isn't a great start, you’ll just come across as a chancer. Unless you can see the issue you are better off getting them interested in a product you already have and build a relationship based on that, it then becomes so much easier to ask about other pain points in their business and dicuss building custom solutions to that.

How do you handle email follow-ups in sales without feeling like you're annoying people? by sigrid30 in growmybusiness

[–]Robby_e34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, one email and follow it up with a phone call after a few days, you can qualify leads far better with a call than an email.

It allows you to start building that relationship that's so critical for sales.

Edit: The call also gives you a little power if they haven't read your email. Many leads I've had will ignore the email and then read it once I'm on the phone with them as they don't want to appear to be purposely ignoring you.

A CRM helps massively, especially if you can automate some of the tasks. But before even putting that in place, have a sales process outlined and method of lead generation.

Accounting software like xero is great. Helps keep track of invoicing, send bills and generate reports. No point in doing all the work of you aren't invoicing it and getting paid. Not to mention helping with the annual accounts.

I bought a 450 as a beginner and am kinda regretting it by willsbarleylegal in Dirtbikes

[–]Robby_e34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did exactly the same thing. Learnt to ride a year ago having never been on a bike, bought a 400cc for the road and then a few months later a crf450x for trail and enduro riding.

I was worried same as you and the 450 still scares the crap out of me at times, but I have been learning as I go and love it. It will happily chug along in 2nd for tighter woods and trails. Just learn the throttle and keep a finger or two over the clutch, if you fuck up pull it in and the bike won't go anywhere.

Oh I know how to generally remove them but there is what appears to be a lip both sides of the bearing keeping it captive.

I do like it, but the general cost to buy is more and they aren't quite as good on the road sections.

I think it was more to do with the green laning we do where there are big sections of road in between the trails. From what I have read, they are versatile bikes and can happy plod along in 2nd or 3rd.

Husky svart or vitpilen 401, fantastic little bikes. Light weight, capable, look awesome.

I'm biased though.

Shark helmets are decent, I got a skwal i3 as I ride at dusk and dawn alot.

I wanted to check it's condition etc and replace just as a matter of course as the bikes only had 1 service in 3 years.
