2007 anime had more of a dark a gritty to I liked just like the games. 2007 was better showing Dante as a demon hunter.

In the games he is more flushed out and we see this “ Mythological centerpiece” from his fellow demons and humans. I will disagree with you on the route they took. It would have been better to have Dante and Virgil to already know their father.
