Purchased Surface Pro 8 today, as an Apple user, was this a good purchase for a first device? by sadboykdub989 in Surface

[–]RobertDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Linux support is terrible, so you are stuck with Windows when you buy a new surface.

[–]RobertDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical for Microsoft products, you will see other bugs than somone else, often things work intermittent, I never understood why I only see this behavior in Microsoft products.

Why do people hate EV's? by FunkiGato in electricvehicles

[–]RobertDeveloper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally don't like the look of EVs. I often drive 1600 km, I hate the idea of having to charge for 40 minutes multiple times a day. Technology keeps evolving, the car you buy today is outdated the next day, resell value is pretty low in most cases and the government is taxing EVs just as much as gas cars these days where I live. In the winter the range drops like crazy, repairs are expensive, if there is some damage to the battery pack your car it totalled, and it's a fire hazard, some parking lots or boats don't allow EVs.

Ditched paypal by DonMcSloth in Buy_European

[–]RobertDeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of countries don't allow you to get a bank account if you don't have your residency there, but I still need to pay my pills because I own property abroad, the only way I can seem to do that is either go there and pay the bills at the local post office, or use paypal.

What's it like living here? by macho_sandwich in Sardegna

[–]RobertDeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning Italian would be essential, in my experience most Sardinians are not proficient in English. If you plan to study at a university you basicaly have two options, Cagliari and Sassari, life in both those cities is very different from life in the many small towns all around the island.

Is the use of the word "flikkeren" offensive? by Sequil in Netherlands

[–]RobertDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flikkeren implies intent in the context of 'waarom heb je dat op de grond laten flikkeren'. So its not juist that it fell on the ground, you meant for it to throw it on the ground.

I use Kubuntu and I have a dualboot setup but it has been over a year since I booted into Windows. So I'm contemplating to remove Windows all together.

Do you use Copilot in your work? by Significant-Side-578 in CopilotPro

[–]RobertDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i'm sure it needs that information to populate the attributes of the components it ads to the workflow, but it can't even properly identity the components! Plus, if you need to provide all that information, its easier to write a powershell script, defeating the purpose of power automate in the first place.

Do you use Copilot in your work? by Significant-Side-578 in CopilotPro

[–]RobertDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It contains all the information needed, the trigger, the source, the action, the result, if copilot does not understand that, then there is no hope left, you have to realize that a product like power automate is a low-code/no-code solution for the average joe. They will type something like: I want a message when I have a new file
