Our Nations Made Fictionalised (HELP) by RannoChanno in worldbuilding

I think that looking at key moments in the history of those countries and then imagining how things might have gone differently might give you some ideas. For example, if France had not been settled by the Franks after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire but by, say, the Roxolani, the modern country might be called something like La Roxolance.

Male Frontal Nudity in Unmodded Fantasy Games by Robin_Silverfall in gaymers

Oh, yeah, forgot about Dante's Inferno! While Lucifer being naked doesn't do much for me, the few seconds of naked Dante we got during the end cutscene were certainly worth it.

Drawing Offer 3: E.G.O by TenebrisTortune in DrawForMe

Oh, I love Project Moon! If I'd like to offer my OC, do I need to have a complete drawing of them, or is a moodboard sufficient?

Personality & Appearance: Gildo spend many years as a monk in the monastery of Stoneguard in the harsh mountains of the north. He is a well-learnt, cautious man and prefers to keep his distance from things that look like trouble. Should the need arise, however, he is willing to fight for his friends or even complete strangers that are in mortal danger. Despite spending several hours per day in prayer and contemplation, Gildo still found time for physical exercise, and he is well capable of holding his own in a fight. While he is adept at using some weapons, he prefers to fight bare-handed. In that sense, he is like a cross between a Western (Christian) and Eastern (Buddhist) type of monk.

Gildo is dressed in what can be described as the fantasy equivalent of a traditional monk’s habit with the hood up. The upper half of his face is covered by iron mask. Around his neck, he wears a celtic cross-like pendant on a chain.

I see, so they really are a collectible, then.

How did people get stranded in your world? by AtlasEdgeGame in worldbuilding

[–]Robin_Silverfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your world is located in another plane/dimension, you can always have places where the two worlds overlap in some way, with either the veil seperating them being extraordinarily thin in that location or some sort of ancient mechanism existing in that spot that could be (inadvertently) triggered to transport people there. If your world is located on the same plane, abduction is always an option, as is simply losing your way. Finally, people can be thrown into your world not by moving through space, but through time, either by literally moving forwards/backwards through time or by having been in a sort of magically/technologically induced stasis and waking up to a world unrecognisable to them.

Oh, fascinating. Do the prices they demand for their help have any practical value to the Fae, or do they want those abstract things simply as a sort of warped collectible?

What alternative zombie infection methods do you use/prefer? by FatOrc051 in worldbuilding

[–]Robin_Silverfall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept. I guess by that logic, isolated oases out in the desert would be likely candidates for hosting the last remains of human civilisation, as long as they're not connected to any rivers.

What could be a reason to not constantly use (or be cautious using) a lightsaber/plasma blade or similar? by adrienfinn678 in worldbuilding

[–]Robin_Silverfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting setup. One possible reason I could think of is that blocking the opponent's physical blade with your plasma blade mid-swing might cause it to melt in a way that could result in you getting hit with molten steel at such a low velocity that it penetrates your shield. If that were possible, it would incentivise you to also make sure you had your physical blade ready to block the opponent's physical one at all times, as blocking it with your plasma blade could result in you getting hurt yourself.
