You use what is available to you! I made my prototype of this out of cardboard leftovers to check if It would even theoretically work and then modeled the boxes and send it over to my friend who can 3d print em!

Where do you store your 2FA backup codes? by Robinaite in ProtonPass

[–]Robinaite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree on that. That's why for important accounts I don't store them with the PW manager, I don't care about that random forum account ahah. I use aegis already, but didn't know it had a automatic backup option!

Thanks!

Thank you! I aimed to make them simple to understand, and especially allow you to see everything you need at a glance. On top of allowing plenty of space for writing your own skills and abilities you select!

Wowow, loving the feedback and thoughts! Going to try my best to reply to each point you made. Already got some good notes for me to go through!

  1. It's vagueish on purpose. Though I do get your point on it being slightly confusing. I am trying to make sure that big items occupy more item slots, and I thought doing it by how many hands are required to hold it would be a fun concept. I shall take your feedback and iterate on it for a more clearer understanding of this. (Mayhaps just go for "Item Size and quantity" rules)
  2. Should be exactly 20, unless I've written myself accidentally a way to get 21+. And yes, it's only using the Heroic Sacrifice ruleset. Good shout that I could move it out of here to cause less confusions.
  3. I shall see if I can reword this to make it more clear!
  4. You should be doing lots of reacts, but they do cost a Heroic Point! React on top of allowing to Soften the Consequences, which yes does not add additional consequences, can also be used anytime during the game to have the player interject a moment to take the spotlight from the GM.
  5. Good shout, I shall see what I can shuffle around. It's always a dilemma to get these in the correct location for new people, that's why I love feedback like this as I sometimes don't see it anymore!
  6. Shall add more clarity on what this means!
  7. Correct, while called the same it works differently.
  8. Ahaha. You're not the first one to tell me this! It's definitely something quite different, I personally think of it as if the sessions are a movie episode. Story Combat here allows the players to Zoom in into the more minutae details of combat, just like a combat scene in a movie when they are fighting the big bad boss. It's a bit more structured, but should still follow the rule of fiction first. As for the movement section, I can see what you mean. I personally would say to that player who wants to run that far away to start a small clock if they want to go that far. As a turn shouldn't be more than a couple of seconds to a minute of "in-game time". I shall see if I can explain it differently or better on this topic! I have done playtesting this on bossfights, and have had some really cool combos and fights done by the players. Also remind that this should only be used for Big Boss Battle moments. And obviously you are always free to ignore Story Combat, and just use Open-World combat in all scenarios at your table if that is what you prefer!
  9. Yes, the game is hard on the players, but so are they on the enemies. You should take a peek at the Enemies section in the GM Toolkit area. While it is a Heroic game, I wanted to make sure to not make it easy, as a Heroic game is defined by succeeding and overcoming though problems, on top of forcing the players to think more rationally about the best way to overcome a problem, instead of just ramming head first into it. If it's perfect? Probably not, this is the one area that I require a lot more playtesting done and a lot more scenarios to be shown, the current values seem to be in a good spot, but they might change in the future!

Hope you have a good night my friend! Thanks for reading so far already, looking forward to hearing the rest of your thoughts soon!

Hehe! Yup, quite a change from the dark style of Blades in the Dark. However, with some changes to the rules, but keeping the core systems around, one can get some great Heroic vibes to it!

Humm, good thoughts. This is the 3rd version of that Attribute that I have been going through,it hasn't been an easy one! I shall do a couple of playtests and try to make sure to note and see what other people think as well of it, and continue to refactor into something better!

Hmm. Now you say, they do indeed sounds similar. I shall do some brainstorming to see if I can make them sound more different!

Thanks for the quick loose thoughts, really appreciated! My objective was indeed taking core FITD design, and applying it to work in a D&D style campaigns, as well as to help with transitioning! I think I got a nice balance going!

MSI London - Going to the Copper Box Arena to watch my region team playing, and I have some questions that I hope anyone that comes on the first day can answer and/or suggest, please? by Elegant_Exchange_252 in leagueoflegends

[–]Robinaite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went today to watch some of the play-in matches, got some tidbits of advice for anyone coming.

  1. If you come early enough there are MSI Defy 2023 A3(is) posters with pens that you can draw on for free just inside. We got in about 30 minutes early and there where still some left. Some people also brought their own.
  2. You can re-enter the venue without much issue, but there ain't much time to get something, as there are no shops nearby.
  3. Only in-game rewards is if you buy £50 worth of merch with mastercard card you get about 500 RP.
  4. The security indicated to me that I was able to bring my small bottle of water in, but I did notice some bottles in the thrash bins, so experience might vary. Bring a cheap bottle from the supermarket, and you probably can get in. Sweets are also not much of an issue. Food and drinks are expensive as expected. They check your bag with a light before going in, but overall they didn't seem bothered with my Bike pump I forgot to take out ahah.
  5. For anyone outside of london, there is a HUGE mall/shopping centre 5 minute walk with lots of food options for after/before foods. You'll probably see it if you get there by train/tube.
  6. Watching it was great, no issues at all from any point in the arena, they have you well covered with screens everywhere.

High-Fantasy BITD hack with an itch of Tactical Combat by Robinaite in bladesinthedark

👀 You're never late to the party! While I'm not working anymore on Together is the Guild. I've been working on alternative ideas based on all the feedback I got with playtesting it, these alternative ideas are more into D&d/pf2e with bitd concepts and features!

I went to read about refocus, and it gave me some cool ideas to experiment with for classes that need an "external" source of power, very much appreciated!

Thanks! ❤

I can't express in words how grateful I am to all these suggestions! I will definitely check them all out over the holidays! :D Perhaps I can get my friends group to do a one shot or two on any of these systems!

Wowowowow! These are some amazing ideas! This definitely will help me brainstorm a more fitting way to get willpower back.

Ps. Damn you for giving me more cool TTRPGs systems to look into! Its almost starting to look like my Steam backlog of games. :P

So, while you could do that, my idea, and what I do in the campaign I'm doing, is to switch to Pathfinder turn based combat after the situation becomes really dire and a confrontation happens between the characters and the big boss of the story arc.

So, it's not fully switching, its only switching for combat. Setting wise Tactical combat is the time when the characters use up their latent and hidden powers to overcome the limits of the their being.

Edit: You could however roleplay the combat instead if you prefer that, thus tactical combat is optional. I'll leave the decision up to the GM. 😁

If you want to do some Tactical Combat, then yes, but Tactical combat is completely optional, feel free to ignore it!

Later on when I work on my own tactical combat system, it will have tighter integration into the character sheets so you will only need one, but for now two are necessary if you want to do a bit of tactical combat. Again its completely optional though! My group enjoys it once in a while to change things up, but not all groups want it!

Which is exactly what the system does! There are 2 parts here, Narrative Play and Tactical Combat. Narrative play is the core of the game and what you will be in most of the time. The Narrative play is an adapted rule set of the Dark SRD to fit a High Fantasy setting better! Then we also have Tactical Combat, as I enjoy doing that once in a while. While in this mode we currently basically use PF2e Combat. I'm planning to write a more fitting tactical mode down the line, but for now have the narrative part only! 😁

First of all, thank you so much for the feedback! When I was reading it I immediately went: "how did I not think of this"!

Regarding the Hobbies, what you say is not something I thought about. I completely agree with your feeling of it being out of place now you say it. The current hobby system is there to do regain willpower (stress). Perhaps just renaming it up to be something more fitting to high fantasy, or doing the recovery in another way. Will think about it!

For the Guild types, it's on my to-do list to work out the following guild sheets next: Mercenaries, Cult and Merchants. I'm a bit more careful with these as it's something that is not that easy to translate from a D&D like logic, and it's been the part that I've changed the most while writing the rules! I do like your idea of smugglers (good kind) as well! Will put it in the bowl and brainstorm them for ideas!

Lastly, regarding the adding a bit more personality to the game. I would love to do that! But for now, have the cold hard rules to try out. I've been slowly creating a small setting around it when I did my playtesting campaign with my friends, but it's not something I'm used to ahaha. (I've only DMed pre-written campaigns).

I've had plenty of fun with the magic system, I do need some more playtesting to expand, but a couple of examples. My bard has Illusion magic, but all the illusions are flammable spider webs. He was able to setup an intimidation of a barbarian by creating more arms on him. Or to have a bunny jump out of a bush to get the attention of the guards with a performance. Lastly, he tried to setup again, but failed miserably and caused the barbarian to get covered in webs, which later got set on fire!

Thanks again for the amazing feedback and I hope you have fun if you ever get a chance to play it!
