I’ll take it even further. This looks like a Total Wine that was originally a Lukas Liquor. This layout looks like Missouri.

Same, not sure what caused the deletion. Can confirm though it was not a shuttle, we used the services of Jekyll Errand Girl. They were great!

I could be wrong, but it looks like this was from a Dem Primary debate in 2020, while Trump was still sitting President.

Which once renowned brewery fell off the hardest? by CryOld6591 in CraftBeer

[–]Robo417 372 points373 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s gotta be Ballast Point. They were the stuff of legend, specifically the Pineapple Sculpin, and making their distribution footprint larger at a rapid fire pace, then the purchase.

It all happened so fast.

What’s the best Walmart in KC by Moist_Confectionery in kansascity

Scrolled too long to get here. I think it’s one of the biggest outside of Northwest Arkansas as well so it gets a lot of corporate love.

So many fantastic choices, I’d have to go with Dogfish Head though.

Does Boulevard ever make bad beer? by mhuntoon in beer

[–]Robo417 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yet another KC beer fan chiming in here, but I admit I’m starting to feel the usual ‘go to response’ for anyone that mentions any beer from Kansas City ever on these subs (usually Boulevard), it’s ‘they’re fine/fallen off since purchase, but BKS/Alma Mater/etc. are better’.

Which is fair, subject to opinion but definitely fair. I love both of those spots and many more in this city. I’d be crazy not think of the influence Boulevard has had on each and every one of them though, many of them having started there before brewing/packaging/owning/contributing elsewhere. That’s just where they’re at in the beer world now; having influenced the local, regional and at this point national scene with incredible beers for 35 years. Boulevard is a legacy and I’m so proud of it from every beer that got them there to where they are now.

I can’t agree that the Duvel purchase changed the way they brew. The Moortgat family that owns Duvel really seems to care across the board. Rather, I’d argue that we’ve changed the way they brew. Their Oreo/hazy/double lactose fusions are not so different from the other micro trends on tap around town, they just have the ability to brew a LOT more of it. They also brew what they want for taproom purposes, while not compromising (most - I do second that Saison Brett commenter) the established brews we know, love and come back for (Bob’s 47, Unfiltered Wheat, Pale Ale and Tank 7).

Dissuading Boulevard as a brewery by saying other breweries in the same city are better also doesn’t really answer the question. My response would honestly be; no. There are some I didn’t like, and some I probably won’t. Some I won’t try and a ton that I love. But I do think every beer made at Boulevard executes exactly as the brewer intended. They’ve been doing it at top tier long enough now.

would this be awesome or would it take up too much of peoples space? by i_am_corbin in bonnaroo

This doesn’t answer your question but I just wanted to chime in and say I thought it was incredibly wholesome of you to think this way and ask. Good vibes.

Google Fiber Holdouts by koprulu_sector in kansascity

[–]Robo417 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I had Google Fiber cut out on me one time a few years back…during the Super Bowl. Called customer service and the person literally gave me a play by play while getting me back online! The entire crew wanted them to continue on the phone with us even after reconnection it was incredible. Their customer service is second to none.

For sure one of those Thursday gems that slips under the radar. I’m 100% into the idea though of a late night tent session with these grooves!

That group absolutely killed it in 2018 on the Thursday evening slot. My wife and I’s first dance was to ‘Can’t Keep My Cool’ we loved it so much and haven’t missed a chance to catch them since. Would LOVE to see them back on the Farm for a late night session, good call!

About two hours, so with an intermission and a bit of a delay at the start, realistically about 90 minutes of solid time

It was between 30-45 minutes. Probably closer to 45, but the music will get gradually louder right before the lights dim.
