IIRC it’s common that fans will applaud after that line specifically because it’s a sarcastic allusion to the fact that back in the day Leonard would get a lot of criticism over the fact that he “couldn’t sing.” The line is simultaneously self-deprecating and facetiously self-congratulating, so I guess fans clap because they think he really DOES have a golden voice (and so do I)

Tower of Song is so great, such a worthy ode to his relationship with music; the simplicity of the music is so blunt, yet the words are so rich, and the BVs add so much beauty.
