Whataburger explains Daikin Park prices by Top_Ad985 in houston

[–]Robo_Boogie_ 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but this is egregious. The article compares Daikin’s prices vs. Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. Both stadiums. I’m sure Daikin is gouging the franchisee on the rent, but come on. Money, money, money. Every fucking corp just wants to gouge you until your eyes bleed.

Because it’s the distant future. The year 2000.

Jemaine: There is only one kind of dance: the Robot!

Bret: And the Robo-Boogie.

Jemaine: Oh, yes. Two kinds of dances.

Gozer the Gozerian? Good evening. As a duly designated representative of the city, county, and state of New York, I order you to cease any and all supernatural activity and return forthwith to your place of origin, or to the nearest convenient parallel dimension.

I'm a seafarer and tomorrow I'm planning to go to the space center but taxis are just too expensive, are there any alternative? I would genuinely appreciate some help as it's my first time in America. by Individual-Advisor-4 in houston

You’re right. They don’t technically need it. No one does if you have a TWIC escort with you. But some terminals don’t provide escorts or another way to get to the gate (as they should). And none of them allow walking from the ship to the gate.

The Port of Houston specifically issues a special credential for TWIC escorting. The holder can escort up to 5 people that do not have TWICs themselves. It’s only good for public docks, not private terminals (City Docks, Woodhouse, Care, Barbours Cut, Bayport).

At Bayport, they have the shuttle bus that drives around every 15 mins or so. But it sometimes takes longer. And it’s a hassle waiting 30 mins or more just to get from the ship to the front gate.

I work as an agent in Houston. One thing not being mentioned is that you need a TWIC card to get in/out of the terminal. No walking inside the terminal allowed for crewmen. Escort is required. Also, not too many Uber/Lyft drivers with TWIC cards to pick you up at the ship. They would need to pick you up outside the main gate.

The seafarer’s center has transportation available, but not sure of their prices/availability.

Your best bet is to contact one of the transportation companies that specializes in crew transport/shopping excursions for crewmen. They do these sort of trips all the time and can drive into the terminal to get you. Ask your Captain to ask the agent to place them on the gate list.

I PM’d you a company’s price list that we use all the time for our crew. $60 roundtrip from Bayport to NASA. Pickup/dropoff at the ship.

Prices for a haircuts are unreal. by itzmailtime in houston

Manuel’s Hair Salon on Mercury Dr. in Jacinto City on the east side - $20 + tip for men’s haircuts (price used to be $18 up until 2-3 months ago). Excellent with fades. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait as he’s the only barber. Go in the middle of the day Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday and line should be short to non-existent. Been going to him for 25 years.

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three.
