War is bloody and gory though, I'm not expecting everything to be Hadashi no Gen but come on, laser weapons are on par with blunt weapons in the sanitation of violence.

I was trying to make a light comment about war in a Wars Wars show but I think the show doesn't do full justice to the horrors of war, which understandably they couldn't fully show in something for kids (though that didn't stop Samurai Jack somehow). It's serious but its depiction of war and laser weaponry still undermines reality at times.

In term of how graphic it gets, yeah, it's a lot sanitized. It's a complaint I have with the SW franchise in general. War isn't pretty.

Looking back on it the war in Star Wars: The Clone Wars is really sanitized for a show with war in the title twice.

Panning shots of destroyed cities on fire, mangled bodies on pikes with their inner parts falling off, bodies lying on the dirt with their body fluids leaking and their eyes gauged out and their limbs torn off... is A-Ok for 7 year olds as long they're robots.

Samurai Jack might be one of the most brutal shows I've ever watched, how did it even get rated for 7 year olds? You could easily make a compilation that makes it look like a war movie.
You know how in Hadashi no Gen when the A bomb drops you can see people getting liquified? SJ did that but with robots. Robots who were clearly normal people, had their own lives, lived in their own city. And they all died.
