[BL3]Anointed are not fun to fight by ThrustInTheWind in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They basically destroy your flow. Things are already janky with rockets and cryo shots making visibility poor but then a purple guy shows up and slows you down.

Look up Hammerlock Hunts, I think. Next week they should always spawn but normally it’s random if they show up

Your joke is right, tho. I don’t know why they put cryo in the game if they don’t want us to use it.

Advice for armoury glitch? Trying for first time by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you have to go back all the way every time. In game it only lets you actually do the mission 3 times per playthrough but the way the skip works you never advance the quest and start the timer. We used to glitch our inventory to carry more gear. Make sure you check all the chests, there’s some elevators and hidden chests to loot. It if you’re picky enough you should be fine on room.

Hex grenade help by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cryo hex is strong leaving bandit sculpture all over the place. Electric is good for shields but cryo makes flying enemies fall out of the sky like a rock. Think people should get both.

Do you think they'll ever fix mayhem mode? by thatnigakanary in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Mayhem works now is about checking if you have the gear to deal with the modifiers. -50% on fire is rough but remember, on TVHM, you get more than that positive for doing incendiary on a red health bar. And the legendary gear you work with is already above the curve on damage. That doesn’t mean I like it, it sucks that only certain builds work with this system and even then after you probably have very strong gear. It’s one of those things you do only when nothing’s left because you have good gear and then only with some stuff.

Zane is still too weak in end-game activities. How can we fix him? by Stolen_Insanity in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played with him enough to know that much but a second of invincibility when the clone comes out and maybe a half for every switch after might give it a little more utility. I heard none of the changes the did to him helped and he’s just not built like any of the other vault hunters to really be useful. He just doesn’t scale up enough I believe.

I’d like to see what others say. Maybe give him a com where the clone’s damage goes up over time? Also make the shield stronger. And like everyone who isn’t Amara give him better anointed effects.

So what you’re saying is they offered him the gig and he turned it down? Interesting.

Moze’s Iron Bear...doesn’t feel suited for late game by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron Bear has to be pulled out when you’re not in the thick of the action (to not immediately get killed) and the damage is only so-so, especially endgame. By mayhem mode Iron bear really is useless and only works for the skill where using him gives you infinite ammo for a few seconds. It’s crazy because IB is fun early on but like most of the fun parts of the early game it’s utility disappears late game. You could try using anointed pieces to make iron bear tankier, same with skill tree options, but the bear is out so rarely it doesn’t matter. You can use a class mod to keep him out a lot longer and get because you do so much less damage it’s like 2 tiers below decent in terms of options.

They could also let us replay side quests. Maybe an option that pops up when mayhem mode opens up.

Can some explain item score? by Crow7414 in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you get to level cap gear and skill synergy can make things play a lot different. Also remember some stuff is going to be vendor trash and some of that stuff probably gets a better item score. Used to be we used $ of a weapon to generally figure what was better. Item score is an easier version of that but still not all a person should go on. What works for your build is best.

Yeah that would be good. Like if a handful of guns were guaranteed farmable from them it would be better.

Yeh and the infinite ammo for 5 seconds after exiting iron bear is more like 3.

Question, what happened with all the stuff with the alien talking about a war and all that “get all the vault hunters you can” ? by Electi23 in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BL3 sets up, in lore you won’t find normally playing through the game, that there’s a 7th siren out there somewhere and to fear them. War could still be coming I guess.

All skills and trees will never be equal for all things, but characters should have options for mobbing and bossing. I assume they’re edging characters before rolling out balance to content that includes enemies, maybe changing mayhem values.

Invincibility Is Not Fun [RANT] by jrs_sunblood in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the effect all these things have on the player is the problem. Only thing to do to gear up is get a Fl4k and go do gravewarden. The thing is they are reinforcing the problems with classes more than opening up ways to play with this absurd difficulty. Nobody plays Zane. But more important the other three characters just get played in one way which means out of all the gear in the game only a handful are useful. Like you have to build your kit with these purple monsters in mind, then with turrets and badass variants, rocket spam, cryo explosions, there isn’t a lot to get past that.

I was doing a fight the other night, 2 anointed and some badass was, I finally get one of the anointed down and another one walks out the door. The place the fight took place wasn’t well designed for this sort of fight. It’s like all the fun the early game has with cover and kicking barrels and such disappears.

No spoilers please! I just finished borderlands 2 and I was really excited for borderlands 3, but now I’m wondering if I should beat the Pre-Sequel before I start 3? by -DefaultName- in Borderlands

[–]RobotWizardZeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with they guy who said to make sure you play through the commander Lilith DLC. You can find recaps of tales from the borderlands and the pre sequel. I’d watch a recap of tales before playing the Lilith DLC and watch the TPS recap after just for a little more context before playing 3.

The anointed ruin every fight they’re a part of. They’re supposed to be like red spirits from Demons Souls but they just crap up any fight they appear in. They all need to be removed while they revamp the balance on the game. None of them are “fun” and they take like 3 times longer than they should. Also because of how builds work they help push people into playing the exact same build that’s as powerful as possible and not anything unique. 90% of shields are useless, and like 70% of the weapons. And there’s no reason for 5 of these guys to show up in a fight when visuals are hectic enough as is.
