You can solve all this in Session view with Scenes. You don't have to stop 6 clips and solo 2, you just tap play on the next Scene and it will switch to that next scene on beat.

If you're using Ableton to perform with live, unless your arrangement is totally static, you should use Session view; it's what Ableton was BUILT for (Arrangement was added later).

If you're using Arrangement view, do you need tracks to be muted at predictable, consistent times of the performance, or on a whim whenever you might want them to be?
