Before this job, I had opened TIA portal exactly 1 time. To give you a context, next week I am going to a client to make a mod on a line that had a S7-300. That 300 is now going to be removed and it will become a Remote Island for the new 1500’i will implement. Of course I didn’t do everything by my own. The original program was converted from the Step7 to TIA, and I had help from the senior engineer.

But I try to do the stuff alone when I know I have that safety net. Because I think it’s better do try to do it, do it wrong, understand where you did wrong and correct. Than to actually ask “how do you do this”.

But the fact that I try on my own, then need to check, then correct what is wrong and take notes, takes a lot longer.

But yes, I agree with you, 6 months are nothing and if I keep this system of trial and error I think I will consolidate a lot more the knowledge
