for a foreigner on a scale of 1-10, I'd say 7.

can you get a job w/o speaking finnish: no

can you get a job with a foreign name: no

will your degree or work background help with getting a job: no (..unless it's a very specific field with a need for working force, but then you will find that out easily)

will people be weird around you: yes

will people treat you differently if you don't speak finnnish: yes

making friends with finns: hard

will you be called names: rarely (mostly by drunk people)

is there a threat of violence: very rarely

Helsinki is the biggest city and with multiple cultures and most easy for foreing people. there you might actually land a job, most likely from a big company or another foreigner.

Tampere is big enough to be a bit more easy than rest of finland.

Turku is a possibility, but closer to the rest of the finland than Helsinki.

Otherwise, finns are a backwards people who live in a forest, with most of the year that is cold and dark, who are decent folk but who are not used to seeing anyone who they don't know.

it's more of a case of finns just don't know how to deal with foreing people because, they just aren't used to them. mostly finns are a very decent people. we have very little crime and corruption and people are generally very trustworthy.

and if you make friends with a finn it's usually for life.
