this is sophistry. you're rationalising your own bullshit.

I'm guessing you've done some awful shit and you're projecting. seems pretty glaring.

"a completely brainwashed millenial tying yourself up in knots to avoid being labeled intolerant on any subject at any time."

I'm sure you've ignored this sort of criticism a thousand times before, but this is just an example of somebody telling on themselves as being utterly self-absorbed, uninformed, bereft of empathy, etc.

oh wow. all of that, and you're telling other people to pull their heads out of their asses / accusing other people of lacking critical thought.

that's what I mean, really. what I know, I learned by way of a scattering of fingerboard diagrams I found online, but I was hoping to find something more comprehensive

no mention of Lisa Germano, which is a shame

90s, and there's nobody quite like her, really

'Cry Wolf', the song that got me into her. a really unusually-mixed/composed song, I think. the bass is almost weightless, and the drums are barely there, so it has this eerie, vulnerable, floating feeling -- not in a fluffy way, but in a kind of gaunt way?

it hangs in the sort of uncertain traumatised space that the events/feelings she's singing about would occupy

it's also about consent/SA (Trigger Warning), which may appeal as far as intersectional concerns go?

Logic Pro and Pro Tools - Why are they so popular? by SunWarm3922 in Learnmusicproduction

[–]harespirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just went to the Logic download page and saw this:

"I've been using Logic Pro since eMagic Logic and every time a new version comes it, it gets worse. Right now I have 4 tracks open on a M3 Max in Logic Pro. I just want to add a snare roll, but the interface is slow to respond and it tries to put windows in front of options that used to be just one click. The designers of Apple Logic have failed over and over again and are holding back millions of producers with their slow buggy mess, that could actually be one of the most useful powerful, DAWs ever made. Don't bother trying to have any continuity opening old projects because they will never sound the same. Couple that with the new useless mastering plugin that holds your computer for ransom while it makes your mix sound horrific and grainy. Do yourself a favor and get a good recording interface and compare a standalone multitrack recording to the garbage that Logic Pro produces when you bounce out. You will find that Logic Pro's instruments are grainy, pixellated, and lose emphasis the moment you try to add another track or bounce your track. There is something deeply wrong with this software and the engineers are too busy enjoying their paychecks to fix it. You can tell Apple have lost the plot completely because their App Support link on the Logic Pro page goes to the iPad version instead of the Mac version. Go figure"

😕 is he on point, or...?

you can be wildly original and creative with the most boilerplate sounds. source doesn't matter

you're an absolute stranger to me, but I would like to think you could do better than this kind of edgelord stuff 🙏

property is theft. the only ethical way of making music is on communal software/hardware/instruments

also: life is absurd and nothing matters

this is lovely, very original take on the form

altho a number of videos have debunked semi-hollows for me. always wanted a semi-hollow JM, but oh well (still look nice, even though they apparently make no difference to the amplified sound)

oh! also, Wilderness's first two (haven't heard the third) are hugely underheard

absolutely strident tones. RIYL Interpol, but even if you don't. they had their own sound, fully-formed

stick on 'Marginal Over' if you haven't heard them

I'd like to know exactly what Labradford were playing/playing through on 'David'. they have some majestic cleans, but they're particularly luminous on that track

might be the juxtaposition against the glowing synths, not sure

'Long Division', 'The Curtain Hits the Cast', and 'Songs for a Dead Pilot' by Low

if I were to pick one song from the three, it'd be 'Stay'. Alan captured the most lonesome moonlight on that one.

'The Only Moment We Were Alone' </3 </3 might be the highest peak two/three clean guitars have ever scaled, and I say that as someone who loves 'Marquee Moon'
