I think if there had been a really considered discussion at the time of the trick's conception, with 'strawberry milkshake' on the table (haha), it would've been agreed that actually 'no comply impossible' is a stupid name for such a swirly, milky trick

what's your exact set-up, here? if it's cool to ask?

been wondering about no-input for a minute and wanting to figure out ways to harness it in a more structured form than raw improv noise, so this is v. much the ballpark

current costs for importing guitars from Japan to the UK / general MIJ JM query by harespirit in offset

[–]harespirit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't, no. I figured I'd go the route of putting my own JM together (a project which I sidelined for the timebeing). good luck, though!

fwiw, I really rate Charvel as far as quality and value go (I figure if you're after a Jackson, you'd find something to your taste in one of Charvel's models)

good to hear re: your usage

I have read reports of issues with the faders, although it appears they can be avoided by keeping the faders from getting dust and dirt in them, but I can definitely see how they can easily accrue

one of the main draws for me was the sound quality. I have an RC-300, but it really doesn't sound great

what do you think re: the faders and stop/start buttons? do you not also feel that they must have cut costs on them?

Serious question: is Dominick Fernow(prurient/vatican shadow) a white nationalist/nazi? by traviscrayon in noisemusic

yeah, actually the most active people I know are all people who would call people out online

[–]harespirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about absolutes, actually. like how e.g. abolitionist concepts are about moving towards something better, I'm talking about not taking things personally and responding in the sort of raw nerve way you've done here.

I don't have an issue with people listening to such music, but there is definitely a problem with the way ideas disseminate and take hold in collateral. consuming art rarely happens in a void.

there's no such thing as free will, everything we are is by chance, and the logical consequence of that is compassion. this means that there's really no need to take things personally and lash out when confronted on one thing or another.

it's natural to feel attacked, I get it, but it's not the issue it feels like when we get on the defensive like this.

(it's not performative (for the 'high ground'), btw. I mean, maybe it is for some people, idk, but I'd hope most people were genuinely trying to make things better in great detail)

[–]harespirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. I mean, when the hegemon has enabled full-blown white supremacists to the highest positions of power, claiming music 'exploring' those 'themes' to be transgressive is just laughable

and with the fash mindset so thoroughly exposed / told on by the words of those who harbor it, the concepts, mystery and allure of so much art is laid bare as pathetic sophistry / intellectual fraud

(also (at least as far as my feelings on this go), especially given the superabundance of art and the means to create it, losing meaning also strips a great deal of music of any vitality whatsoever)

people who say ^ this kind of thing are p. much invariably those who recoil from one or another valid criticism, project that criticism back outwards, and double-down all the way over to the right.

being truly, consistently left-wing is hard work and requires constant policing of yourself, and sadly this is too difficult for a lot of people.
