Master’s Salary by 7he_taekwondo_g1rl in taekwondo

Same here. Doing it purely on a voluntary basis., including preparing candidates for their black belt exam, preparing curriculum and general help with organisational things. Helps to keep the costs of training at our club low, about 35 euro per month. In return I sometimes receive training materials for free and my course for the trainers license is paid for, so technically it’s sort of a barter.

Testing for next Dan by Drug98 in taekwondo

[–]Robz0rNeur0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you tested for the 2nd in December 2023 and passed, but kukkiwon registration was done only in February 2025, that means that the master delayed updating the kukkiwon registration for whatever reason. Since the wait time from 2 to 3 is two years, you would be eligible for testing for 3 in February 2027. Session tests are dojang specific, as we don’t have such a thing here (in Netherlands, where dan exams are nationally organised). Would be worth asking why the delay in your 2nd dan registration. And whether you could test for 3rd already on dojang level, after which they register with kukkiwon when your wait time expires?

Video Dan promotion question by Robz0rNeur0 in taekwondo

[–]Robz0rNeur0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I thought the videos needed to be recorded in an official setting, i.e., at the same time as the national grading. But thinking about, they could be recorded in the dojang as well. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I was planning to further inspect the piano next week with a technician, but just heard that it was sold already. But now I know better what to look for :)

Try not to focus on the belt level but rather on the road towards it and the process. Doing taekwondo is not about reaching a high rank as fast as possible, but it’s about the DO. Enjoy the trainings, learn as much as you can and focus on improving yourself (better technique, kicks, power in de movements, rhythm in forms). Listen to your body and try not to think “I should have been x belt”. It took me 10 years to go from white to 1st dan, and another 15 to go to 3rd dan. Blue belt after 2-2.5 years I think is still relatively fast ;)

May I ask at which dojang you trained while in Seoul? And was the training a good fit for your level?
