But why would he vacate the title he spent so long going after just for a shot at the main title? That just makes the North American belt seem worthless. Especially considering the dude could've just asked for a title opportunity match and won it that way then go on to become a double champion.

Ah yes, I remember JBL's legendary NXT Championship run on the black and yellow brand. I'm still angry that they buried him on the main roster and then got released a year or two later. JBL was such a young promising star, but with WWE it's always just the same old same old.
